items I have dreams of seeing one day available for our cars...

-ground control upper camber plate mounts which allow caster change as well (they currently have these for the B13 sentra's and such) adjustable caster would be great...! note these are also macpherson front suspension...

-caliper piston/pad heatsink...
http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/PBC18
they have these for z's...

and of course the roll center adjustable correctors/LCA angle correctors which have been well conversed about lately in this forum...

Do stillen plates and cusco plates not fit? I know they fit the 93-01 altima and I know for a fact the bolt pattern at the top of the strut tower is the same on your max.

WTF?? a heat sink for 150 bucks?? I wonder if PC heat sink can somehow be adapted for such purposes...

Stillen/Cusco are made for the Max, but they eat up suspension travel and are not caster adjusters. The GC mount on top of the strut tower to aid in travel and they can adjust caster.

well I guess if someone knew basic cad, and bought one for comparison purposes and did all the measurements, one could use www.emachineshop.com and duplicate it...but I wonder if it could be re-sold then...since I am sure there are patents on such on that product...

check for parts from a 240SX as well. I haven't had time to check, but it looks like the upper strut mounts are the same bolt pattern on the 240 and the Max.

you can also use these if you're willing to do a bit of grinding to make it fit.

i do CAD for a living...and as long as their is little alteration it can get it own patent....B13 sentra stuff and altima stuff should work as well

but where's the line in alteration and patent infringement? or is that a complex/cloudy issue?

I guess those with matt blehm's z32 caliper kit can have the brake heatsinks I listed above as it appears the company makes them for those calipers...

three points:
1. isn't there a concern that these things wouldn't fit under our wheels anyhow?
2. "The Fade Stop Brake Cooler is a Patent Applied For brake accessory " (i.e. it is NOT patented)..or are you referring to the plates?
3. Even if it was, the fact that a "copy" you made would be made for a different car (maxima) and produced in a very small amount - this would likely a) make it not worth their while to sue you for infringement and b) not likely ever be noticed
4. Camber plates are not and original idea. The concept cannot be patented, I'm pretty sure. All you have to do is make one tiny change and call it a different product.

Stillen has discontinued their camber plates for the maxima.

I thought I read in another thread that GC wants 20 prepaid up front to make them. They are not returning my email inquiries on the cost of 20 camber plates. Anyone else want to give it a try??

are you talking about the ones with adjustable caster...cause I know they make plates without that as well...

Yep. I sent them measurements about 4-6 months ago, never heard back. Then somebody mentioned in another thread that they wanted 20+ prepaid up front. I've seen the sentra ones with the roller bearing and caster goodies, neat stuff.

I think the LCA and steering balljoints should be a high priority. There's got to be a lot of potential in these cars that goes untapped because we have to go to great lengths to just to keep the front end stable and gripping...

i agree....along with adjustable camber plates....it would help the fornt grip tremendously if set up right

Those brake coolers don't look like they would work with our sliding calipers. There is not as much room for a heat sink as there is on the 4 piston Z caliper.

well I was just meaning the Z32 calipers...

I only saw these on a 240Z and realized that they are fixed piston as well with space for these...but wouldn't work on our calipers...too bad...oh well...I guess my custom brake ducting will have to do for now...

Mike, thanks for that link. I'm gonna try and have them make some spacers and maybe piston rod lock nuts to try out. Heck, even alum LCA's might be possible as both the Maxes and Alti's are getting em now standard.

As far as the plates, don't worry about the caster adjustment. That can be solved with shifting the subframe along with offcenter LCA bushings. Worry about the camber and sphericals.

Maybe I caught Ground Control on a bad day but I even dropped Per's name from GRM as he did exactly what I wanted on his B13 Sentra.
http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...3&postcount=34

As for the brake heatsink thingy's - why? Who here's overheating their brakes? And who's done proper cheapo ducting at the rotor center, not the caliper like in that site's pics?

Finally, R/C correctors. I've got my spare LCA's, a good source for rod ends, and just looking for a source for the pins that go into the ends.

One other thing. When you drop the car and the LCA's point upward doesn't that in turn pivot the FSB up too? Does that create load/preload on the bar? I suppose if you get the LCA's perfect the bar will be neutral but I'm thinking we might need to look at FSB endlinks like the rear of the A34's are usin.

does anyone even make offset LCA bushings for our cars...what cars even have a offset bushing of nearly the same size as ours...?

and what other effects would shifting the subframe have though?

I have overheated my brakes at willow a few times, fluid didn't boil...motul doing it's job I guess...but I haven't been since I got matt blehm's 2 piece rotors which should help a little in the fade department...I just wish Hawk made the HP+ compound for the 6th gen calipers or J30/Q45 calipers...they only make HPS which is what I am stuck with...my other options are the new EBC yellowstuff I guess....I don't want to use a full race compound like hawk blue/black or pagid offerings as the metal shavings not only destory your paint and wheels, but they will chew through rotors like nothing else...

it would create preload on the fsb...good observation...never considered that before...but since my last corner weighting, I had my lca's set at parallel to the ground so the FSB is pretty much neutral....feels much better so far....but it could be something to look into as for now I don't want to run any lower until we get R/C correctors/adjustable lca's...

actually the proper way to do ducting is the hit the rotor right before it enters the caliper so the pads touch a cooler rotor...and the hat as well...but with the 2 piece ones I have now...I am sure that is staying cool...

I mean it would be nice to have adj. caster...but I can live without it...I just run a good amount of camber now (-2.3) and be happy with fast tire wear...! especially since we already have 3 degrees IIRC which is near optimal for FWD cars as yes it will increase dynamic camber vs. just running a huge amount of static camber with the wheels turned, too much can increase understeer/loading on front tires typically from apex point forward and increase torque steer on our cars...I would maybe dial in another pos. degree and be done with it...

I think the biggest thing right now is the R/C connectors and maybe aluminum LCA's to lower unsprung mass...

but bejay, what did you mean by:
"I'm gonna try and have them make some spacers and maybe piston rod lock nuts to try out"
for what?

the real trick is to see what your steering rack/tie rods look like when lowered and see what angle those are at...control that bump steer...lol

And scrub radius, no?

Correct me if I'm wrong...

scrub radius is mostly effected by changes in track or wheel offsets dramatically to one end compared to the other...

R32? I thought that gen used double wishbones in front, not MacPherson struts...

Either way, the valving would be totally different because of the different suspension geometry, spring rates, sway bars, weight, and weight distro...

he's talking about bolt pattern for the upper strut mounts (i.e. camber plates).
