im very impressed with the people in the 3rd gen world now. poking through the threads and actually seeing some people who know what they are talking about. what works and what doesn't aaron hitting 13's all motor {family car battle? i think you'd lose big time}

aside from that. the turbo cars that seem to be popping up, and other random creations. good job guys. you have impressed a veteran

Are you not gonna get another third gen. After all I heard you had the fastest mph hit in a third gen n/a on the streets.

Sure. But I know good and well with 3 little mods, you should be in the 13s.

yeah the org has got to be one of the best forums for info i've ever come across. the 3rd gen group is pretty tight too and that's something that keeps a lot of us in 3rd gens.

what if we did a race based on cost...... how much did the grand prix cost then w/ mods. then take a maxima and build it up until we match the price on both. hows that for a race.

my buddies wonder why i dont just buy a camaro ss or somthing. the 20g's with mods one could build one hell of a maxima. but we will leave that to hardcore 3rd gen guys. oh yea and for the same 20g's you would actually be able to handle hehe

Problem is, I've already got him beat on total investment in the car.
my VE has over $50k invested in it over the years.
But the playing field still needs to be levelled. 1/4 mile means nothing but horsepower. need a track where one has to brake and turn as well.

car cost me 23k
ecm 470 bucks
mufflers 130
100 shot, 300 bucks

so for less then a grand i picked up over 100 hp to the tires. and over 110 ft lbs.
then again, i started with a 13 second car out of the box. this is what happens when the engineeres at gm get bored "hey lets stick a v8 in the grand prix and see what happens"

i could build another 3rd gen to run 12's for about 1500 bucks or less. not that hard to do really. i must say, nitrous is fun!

would i do it again? probably not. id end up like matt, spending an *** load of money to get lack luster results in the power area. so im a power junky, sue me!

I didn't know you put nitrous on this thing. I just figured you had a GTP with something like smaller pulley, ECU and intake. With a 100 shot right now, I'd be running at least low 12s. But then I would have more than 3 mods.

there's a list floating around here somewhere on one of those "how much have you spent on your ride" threads... but it doesn't include the last round of $4500 in engine work..

I'm not sure a 100 shot falls into the "3 little mods" category :-D
