Made one window regulator out of two

I saved the bad window regulator out of my oldest's 92 SE. My youngest then called and said her window wouldn't work either and dropped off the 93 SE. What I did was take the lower plastic guide off of one and reversed it and put it on the other regulator in place of the broken upper guide. Where the little tab fits in a hole to keep it in place I drilled it and put a screw in it. Once I got the drum straightened out with the cables and lubed up the whole thing it worked like a champ.
Bad news is the whole process took about 3 hours and redoing the cable drum was a PITA. Anyway, $aved some buck$.

it's always nice to salvage and repair something that's broken. that's surprising that the wire didn't get all tangled and mangled though...

It did. That is why it was such a pain. I had to take the spool off and re-do it and then re-attach it with counter sunk screws.
