Nissan emblem for Grille.

I just recently got the Street Scene Speed Grille.
I plan on putting the nissan emblem on it.

I purchased one from ActiveTuning, but it doesnt sit flat its made to fit into a slot.

Where i can purchase an emblem that is flat in the back?
Would be even better if it had adhesive backing.

-Thanks, hope you guys can help

I took the emblem off of my stock grille, sanded the back a little, pulled off the original 3M double faced tape, replaced it with some fresh new 3M tape and put that sucker on my new grille. I think it looks good, but the new grille looked good without it also. Someday I may take it off along with all the other badges/emblems, but for now I think it looks alright.

I bought the emblem for $10.

Its going to be a tough sanding job though.
the half circles, top and bottom extrude out in the back about 1/2 an inch, i think it fills in a slot or something.

Didnt want to use the emblem from the original grille, so i could possibly sell it.

Ok silvermouse, here's what I did:

1. take black electrical tape (I used it because that's what I had) and make a cross in the grille, so that you mark where the center is.

2. Put the emblem on top of the grille and mark the 2 half circles or gaps from the logo into the grille, using a magic marker or carpenter's pencil.

3. With a dremel tool, cut the divisions on the grille in order to fit the 2 half circles inside the grille, using the marks you just did as a guide on where to cut. Take your time, and you'll have a good support on the emblem, the double-sided tape will touch the grille, it will look flush on the grille, and the fact that the half circles are shown on the grille will give you an OEM look.

4. Just to make sure everything stays in place, get some epoxy paste and put it behind the emblem after installing it, under the line that divides the circle. That way you're applying it to the grille, and it will be rock solid later.

Here are some pics of how it looks after you finish. I love it...

Max Trunk Emblem question

Anyone know if the emblem is flat on the back side?
Im planning on putting it on my new street scene grille.

I dont want to do any type of sanding, drilling, or cutting.

I would like to have the Nissan emblem no smaller than the trunk emblem, and no larger than the grille OEM emblem. And have the same type of bevel.

Anyone know if the emblem is flat, or where i can get one similar to this description??

Its not one solid flat piece all around, but it is flat with a circular groove along the middle of the outside ring (I'm guessing where they pack the glue in). Hope that helps.

Hey IcIrod,

Thanx, this does help - 1 other quick question.
Does it sit flat? like would i be able to put it on the grille w/out sanding any of it down?

Thanx again

Both the front and rear emblems have two small posts for alignment in the grill and trunk, when I had my Trenz grill, I just bought a new emblem off Ebay for about 6 bucks and left my old on on my OEM grill.

I never had to sand the emblems either, not sure what that's about?

the street scene grille doesnt have any slots to place the emblem.
The OEM emblem that i got at the dealership, has these extrusions behind it, so the emblem doesnt sit flat. There are 2 notches on it that are easy to sand, but the extrusions look like it may take some time.

Was really just being lazy, and wanted to know if there was something that sat flat, in case i screw the sanding down up somehow (like sanding too much off)

Since the extrusions are plastic, I just uses a wire cutter and clipped them off...

Oh im sorry man, i dont think i described it correctly.

The two notches that extrude, i clipped those off.
But the top and lower half circles outline are extruded about 1/2 inch on the back.

I sanded those down, but the emblem still doesnt sit exactly flat on the grille,
I dont think anyone will really notice. The sides are about 2-3 mm off the grille, but the top and bottom sit flush - I know im being ****.

i wanted to know if maybe the trunk emblem would fit better.

To get the grill emblem to sit flush, you actually have to bend ever so slightly the new grill itself. Then the emblem will sit flat. Trunk emblem should be easier...

Really?
Would this make the grille not fit anymore?
Hmmmmm, makes me nervous to try this - but i might try.

I might go w/ just letting the sides not sit flush, - think this would look bad?
We'll see this weekend if ive got the nerves to try bending the grille

Do you know of anyone that has done this?

ended up getting the OEM front emblem.
I sanded the back down but the sides doesnt sit flush. About 2-3mm off grille.

ChernMax, recommended that i bend the grille gently to make the emblem fit.

My rear emblem sits flat when I lay it down. No rear protusions, I could take pics if anyone wants.

The trick is to lay the grill on a towel or blanket face down and gently push down on both ends to flatten the middle. It worked perfect on my old Trenz grill and the emblem was flush with no sanding...

damn, your car is VERY shiny in that pic. My front bumper looks like poo and the hood is rockchipped like a ****. I might have to consider a repaint on a couple things.

Yeah, pics would be great.
I have the same grille as you, but in brushed aluminum.
Street Scene Speed Grille right?

Dont want to "jimmy" the emblem on.
If i could just get the rear trunk emblem to sit flush, i would go w/ that.
But i dont want to spend more money and time sanding the new emblem than i already have just to have the same problem

Pics would be heavily appreciated.

Keep sanding!! I clipped the tabs off of mine, then held it flat on my palm sander (oscilating) and eventually it was flat and flush around the whole emblem.

I would rather do a little sanding to the emblem than to try and bend my grille! But, whatever works for you.

For those with lots of miles and grille problems dont give up hope. My first grille started peeling with about 32k on it, so nissan replaced it. I now have 68k on m car and called nissan to tell them another grille is peeling, and i didnt hear anything and whooallah 4 weeks later the dealer calls me today, and said they have a new grille for me again, so I got anew grille and they did the subframe thing,...and the car actually donsnt make as much noise from the back end anymore either...
