I pick 328 for name and luxury; MAX for fun

If they were the same price then I whould pick the 328. I think the 328 is a good 10 Grand more though so it's a bad comparison.

I fear BMW reliabiltiy...

if I was buying new, then possibly I'd buy a bimmer, but I've heard so many stories of BMW engines blowing with very low mileage and more problems than you can imagine...for reliability, I'd buy the Max.

No used bimmers for me. My old boss's boss(or something like that) had a 95-96 325. She bought it new and babied it(dealer maintained). After spending around $4000 after two months of tranny problems, she ended up trading it in on a 98 C220. She loved the bimmer, but just couldn't justify spending that much to keep it running.

If I'm buying anything European, it's going to be new. Once the warranty ends, I'm selling or trading. I wouldn't be able to sleep if I had to pay that much money for maintenance. Performance upgrades...yes. Maintenance...HELL NO.

Shoot I'd buy a used Hyundai before getting a used bimmer.
