I got in an accident today. :(

I got in an accident today and my car looks like crap! Some stupid lady decided she did not have to yeild to my lane of traffic and pulled out in front of me. I slammed on the breaks and turned the wheel to try and avoid her car, but I think she slowed down or maybe stopped, so I slammed into her passenger side door and bounced off. My air bags did not deploy, not sure if they were supposed to or not with that kind of hit.

My front right fender is crushed up into the car, the hood is crumpled, my right side Cefiro Headlight is smashed, Euro Fog light is smashed, and both turning lights are broken! I was so pissed! TO make matters worse, I saw her getting ready to turn and she actualy slowed down and then went across the road anyway!!! WTF??? She must have seen me, so why the hell did she go???? UGH

Anyway, the officer gave her a ticket and said it was her fault and then both of our cars got towed away.

I took some pictures with my camera phone, but Verizon's site is acting up so I cant get the pictures to the computer right now. When I do, I will post.

I HATE BAD DRIVERS!!!!!!!!!!

Make sure to note to her adjuster that you had NON-OEM parts- get 2-3 prices and places to get the replacements.

Not sure if it is salvagable or not. I will probably find out sometime this week, It is pretty messed up. I am wondering if repairs will come close to the cost of the car. If so, they may just total it. It is an 11 year old car with 165K miles on it, so who knows.

I went to the towing yard this morning to take photos and will post them on my cardomain site later today if you are interested in seeing the damage.

If you have any opinions on what you think they will decide on her, let me know. I am sort of hoping they will total her out just because I am not big into having a rebuilt front end car, ya know?

Oh well, I will post my cardomain site here later. Thanks everyone.

PS. If they do total her, then I have a bunch of parts I have purchased over time sitting in my garage that I will be selling, so I will keep you updated.

Here you go. Here are some pictures of my car. They are on the first page near the bottom. It hurts to look at the pictures just above these new pcitures since the care was just detailed in those pictures. UGH.....

Seriously, I hate bad drivers so bad I could pull out an AK47 pull them from their car and shoot them in the head.

That is going to be a close one. Make sure to NOT sign over possession for it to the insuranse company, IF it is totalled, until you remove your aftermarket parts. You will have to replace them with the stock parts, but you CAN remove the aftermarket parts- unless you can get the insurance company to cover the replacement cost of the parts.

Sorry to hear about the accident Dr. Monkey. Especially after all of the work you have put in to your car. I hope the insurance company is kind to you!

1: glad you're ok
2: if you loved your car like i did mine, you have my sympathy
3: remove all your aftermarket parts if the insurance decides the car needs to go to a shop to get appraised. most do it on the spot, but some are *****es.

Hey, thanks to all of you for your sympothy and words of advice. After speaking with the insurance company earlier today, it sounds like it will be a total loss, so they had me go to the salvage yard today and get everything out of the car and take my tags off and the county sticker.

Like I said earlier, I have quite a few parts for this car that I have purchased over the years that I was planning on modding or whatever that I will not need anymore, so I will probably be selling them off to make room in the garage. I will have to wait to do it until I get final word form the insurance company that the car is totaled, but once that happens, I will post a list of parts for you guys and then just let me know what you need and want. Here are some of the parts:
*Cleared tail lights with LED bulbs and the resistor so they dont blink fast
*Redded out tails with regular bulbs
*Center Oblique (the center tail light) OEM
*Back Seat Center arm rest and folding wall between the trunk and the inside of the car (Black leather)
*Interior Chrome Door Handles (some of the Chrome on the inside of these is peeling, but you can not see it)
I know there is other stuff, but I will have to inventory it and get back to you.

I30ds: about 165K miles. She still ran like brand new though.....

PS. Last month I put 4 brand new tires on and about 5 months ago put 4 brand new struts on!!!!!! AAHHHHH DAMN IT!!!

Homer: You got dibbs on the cleared tails.

I30ds: Not sure what I am going to get. I spent 3 hours online tonight looking at classic cars, mmmmmm I love them, but am thinking that is not the best idea right now in life.

I have thought about a pickup truck, but I need to have 4 real doors if I do go that rout, and I am not a big fan of american made cars (GMC, Chevy, Ford, etc.) due to reliability, but the foreign trucks cost more and I also do not want a big monthly payment. (I had NO monthly payment on the I30.)

I have also though about an SUV this time, but again, would lean toward a foreign one for reliability.

Anyone know anything about the 350Z? I would love a convertable. Not practical, but damn sure looks fun.

Result: NO IDEA right now. Any suggestions and help choosing would be appreciated.

I agree. OK, so don't everyone kick my *** at once, but do you know anything about the 2005 Kia Amanti 4D Sedan????

LET ME EXPLAIN! I like the style and look of it and you really get a lot of luxury features for not a lot of money.

Just curious.

OK, now start kicking my *** for mentioning a Kia....
