2k I30 vs 2k Max - exhaust

A good friend of my family drives a 2k I30. I drive a 2k max. He told me that he had his car looked at a shop and they told him he needed to replace his midpipe. I work at a garage and we currently have the midpipe and muffler in stock for my car, and i was 90% sure that they were the same. The book we look our exhaust pieces in shows them to be different. Are the exhaust in fact diff, or am I write and they are the same? I jsut want to be sure that we have the parts, cause I dont want him to show up and all of a sudden its going to cost him alot more when we have to special order it. Any info is appreciated.

bump, aftermarket exhuasts like cattman and frankencar say that there application will work for all 2k-2k3 maxima, i30, i35. Anyone have some visual proof, like maybe you ahve a pic of your exhaust under the car or have used a maxima exhaust?

Mid pipe?? The car has a y pipe, a cat, a b pipe, and a muffler. When people say mid pipe I think of test pipe which replaces the cat. It sounds like a cat back (b pipe and muffler) package is what you are talking about though.

A33 exhaust is the same as A33B exhaust. Don't know why your shop's catalog shows them to be different (although I am not suprised). Cattman, Stillen, CE, etc... all use the same cat back packages between any year of I30/ I35 and Maxima.

sorry, i know its technically called the b-pipe, just used to calling the pipe inbetween the cat and the muffler the midpipe at work. Were planning on just bolting up a maxima ehaust, because its much cheaper, and we wont have to go through the dealer.
