In the past while i was working on brakes, I have found that if the rotor won't come off, you can bang on it with a rubber mallet. Not hard enough to break it, but hard enough to knock it loose. I am not suggesting that you try to hit the rotor from teh back to knock it off, just bang on the face of the rotor a little. If that doesn't work then I don't know what to tell you.

Unless you're replacing rotors, and don't need the old one... ;-)

there's also a couple threaded holes on the back of the hub where you can thread a matching bolt through, which pushes the rotor out....try the rubber mallet first (worked for me) and if you still can't get it off, try threading a bolt throught those holes

^^^^^^^^

That works, but noone can seem to remember the proper thread pattern/size/length.

I almost forgot- a brass mallet/hammer works well, also.

These non rust people have no idea how bad it can be for us. YOu will jsut need to beat on it with a hammer, I end up using a sledge. spray behind, pound, and annoy neighbors.

I live in the rust belt- just like you. That is why I said that a brass hammer might help. It absorbs a lot of the reverberation and normally has the mass/heft to break loose a rusty rotor.

I got brembo blanks from http://www.importrp.com/home.php and really like their customer service. Shipping was really expensive, though, so maybe price them out on the internet and see if somewhere local will price-match.

Brembos will last a long time if you keep your lugs properly torqued.

I just used a hammer and would spin mine a little as i banged on them from behind...that way you dont put too much lateral stress on the wheel hub bolts. If you see rust dust coming out from the hub bolts...it's working..keep banging...but some muscle in it man.

Try having your hubrings heat-seize to the hub and trying to remove the whole tire/wheel assembly. I had to beat the living hell out of my front tires to get them off. On one of them, the hubring stayed on the hub and the other came off in the wheel. Was total bs!
I tossed the rings and haven't really noticed any more vibration. Not worth going through that again.
And yeah, the front rotors rust like mad as well.
