Nissan finally agreed!!!

Nissan finally agreed to re-purchase my 2005 Maxima Lemon! It took about 7 months of BS between lawyers. I was told on Friday ther offered to re-purchase! I just have to wait to see when I drop it off at the dealer. I'll keep everyone posted if interested.

You've been battling this one for a long time. I've seen the previous posts. Congrats. Hope it gets finalized for you.

LOL! I think they will run it through the auction in the "buyback" lane.

I am seriously considering the Lexus IS 250. It's alot slower than my Maxima but it gets great gas mileage, and it's reall nice to drive. But if I decide to goaginst my better judgement I will get the Cadillac CTS-V.

Hey Mike, I think I am going to forget about the Cadillac for now and get the Lexus. It's so nice and it's good on gas. The price isn't too bad either. I'll keep you posted!

STARR, there are several things wrong with my Maxima, from the brakes, struts, transmission seal, to the interior falling apart and the gauge cluster ratteling. Many more other little things.

I know you do! It was such a relief to get the call last Friday. For some reason they might have me put all the factory parts back on it...grille, tint remove etc...how's things with you?

They are "re-purchasing" it for full contract price, including all taxes, gap insurance, extended warranty, ant total of payments. Lawyer works on contingency fee and I haven't seen the breakdown of any numbers yet.

go for the is 350 its only a bit more and a bit quicker. I looked at those cars as well, and they are soo soo nice. There is such a difference in driving a lexus. I ended up getting a saab truck, just cause of the deal i got on it....and kept the max to sell later, but if i were you I would get the 350.

good deal on the repurchase, hope the lawyer did not have to work too hard to get that deal.

Since the lawyer was working on a contingency fee, he probably hopes the lawyer had to work his butt off so that he earned it!

Was it for a standard 33%?

Actually, Nissan has been VERY resistant. First they wanted to offer me some stupid rediculious settlement and that was turned down. So last Friday they offered a buy-back and I haven't heard when that will go through yet. I am so sick of waiting! There are some good deals on new cars out there and I am missing them all!

You got that right! No, it was a little less than that 33% but still too much. As long as it's over!

If you're considering dropping enough dime on a CTS-V, then I'd opt for the IS350 for sure. Its WAY faster than the 250 and is a beautiful car. Also, consider the new generation of G35's coming out in November. They're hot & fast.

Congrats on winning your lemon fight! I went through the same hassle a few years ago over my Max and finally got Nissan to purchase it.

Get the CTS-V - it's got supercar #'s (400 hp) 0-60 in 4.6 secs for a decent price and race proven handling. Buy a Magnussen SC for it and no Lexus will ever be able to touch it. Check that, you won't even need the SC to beat the Lexus.

Course I'm a Caddy fanboy (check the sig) so don't mind me. You could still get the Lexus, just get used to seeing my tailights cause I am in the process of buying one

There's a $50,000 plus car, not to mention a pig on gas.

The CTS-V is a seriously badass ride, but also a hellavalot more expensive than the IS350. I guess it depends on how much you're willing put down. I will say this though, all the pictures I've seen of the Cadillac interiors look terrible compared to Lexus & most other manufacturers for that matter.

I really love that CTS-V. You're right it's got supercar numbers in a family package. I did some research on some forums and such and found the V's average MPG per tank to be about 15-17mpg. These are real world mumbers from actual owners. If I didn't drive so much I would not even consider anything else. The Lexus ended up being too small for my kids so I got a TL. I like it alot, it's nice but dosent pull like the Max.

CONGRATS on the TL - VERY NICE RIDE.

I understand not wanting to go with CTS-V if you are a serious commuter. I'm lucky, really only drive about 10 miles per day.

Thanks man...yeah the commute thing was a big factor. Even though fuel prices are dropping it's only a matter of time before they come back up. I have to admit, I do miss driving my Maxima. They are such nice cars. Too bad mine was a lemon.
