The Y-pipe is a very good start, Since you have a rust fest I would do a full catback replacement next.. A new catalitic converter wouldn't be bad as long as it's no longer working, if it's ok, I would leave it....

Good luck....

Yeah I would say its time. I replaced mine with an ebay exhaust. I wasn't too sure of the quality but when it arrived it actually fit exactly like the stock one and it's been a while now and still no problems at all. If your looking for a stock replacement I would recommend the one on ebay. My car has close to 185000 miles so I wasn't about to spend alot of money for a replacemeny exhaust and I wan't looking for any performance gain either so ebay was the perfect choice.

If you need any work to your exhuast system like welding I know a good place in chicago that will do it for you. Also I know couple of people with welders.

Haha, thats exactly what mine looked like, when i replaced it... It was a pain to get that thing off... The bolts were smothered in rust. No good. I wish you the best.

Hi Guys,

I have 95 Nissan Maxima and my Exhaust is rusty and makes some noise when I ride into some bumbs on the road.
Since winter is on the way I'm planning to get it replaced, I went to Bergen Car Care Center and they said they will charge me around $800 for changing this with a new one.

Can you guys tell me is this a good deal or is there any alternative.
Also please tell me if I can replace it myself (If so plesae do let me know the method to do so and where to buy a new Exhaust with specifications).

Thanks a lot,
Ravi.

That is way too expensive. Look in the stickys first of all and then do a lot of reading. Depending on what you want, stock sounding, performance, etc. there are many options.

I always in for some full color pics, I mean, black and white would be terrible and i wouldn't know what i was looking at not to mention i see a lot of black and white pics and few color lately...

You really had to start another worthless thread about your exhaust that probably is robbing gas mileage and HP from you? Wow.
