people with JWT ecus....

what is the rev limiter raised to with it, and is it safe to hit that rpm all the time, without stiffer valve springs or different cams?

9000 rpm, HONDA style y0. Yup you can just leave the car in 1st and drive it at 45mph @ 9k and u'll be fine.

U can have them raise it to whatever u want, generally 7,200 is where people go. You can take up to 7200 safely.

I wouldnt bang the rev limiter everyday though, nor would I take it up pass 6500 without a VI.

I've been revving mine to about 7200 on a daily basis for about 10k miles and no problems whatsoever

7000 is their "normal" rev limit, any higher than that and they make you sign some sort of ridiculous "waiver" that says they aren't responsible for any engine damage etc, etc, etc. which is totally asinine because they wouldn't be responsible for any sort of engine damage with a 7000 rpm limiter either.

anyways with my old car I was the first to get the 7200rpm limiter and I ran it out to redline probably a couple times a day, and i raced that car all the time. never had a problem with it.

I would do at least a 7000-7200. Out of the two I would probably go ahead with the 7200 that way you can always shift at 7000 if you wanted to. Also Most Nissan ECUs (including ours probably) can't read RPMs over 8000 so that is the highest a JWT can go. In reality without a VI you won't need an extended rev limit, but you should get one with any JWT ECU just so you don't have to have it reprogrammed later and as mentioned before you can shift early.

I hear the JWT does more than increase your rev's. I thought it was programmed to make use of using 93 octance gas vs 91. I thought the fuel maps were re-done. And I thought that you received power gains with this mod without the need of a VI. That would be assinine for so many people without VI to have it around here if by itself it wasn't worth the cost.

It's not really worth the cost WITH a VI. We're just sort of forced to get it because it's either that or get an emanage or something along those lines if we want a raised rev limit.

Yes, indeed, there are power gains from installing it.

Mine has an 8000 rev limit. The highest ive ever gon is probably 7700, but that was only once, ive gone up to about 7500 a few times....not that I make any power way up there anyways. I was going to put on a VI, but I sold it. Anything higher than 7200 and you would want to atleast upgrade your oil pump and springs.
