parts that can be re-used when working on suspension
i'm going down the list on http://staff.jccc.net/dlee/maxima/suspension/ and i know i can probably re-use the spacers and can definitely re-use the brackets. anything rubber I will replace, however the insulator strut, part# 54320-40U00 which lists for about $40 a piece is skewing the budget. can those be re-used?

yes, the upper strut components can all be re-used (bracket, rubber seat, strut isolator, etc).... Just make sure to check them for any unusual wear. Pay particular attention to the plastic "strut bearing" that sits between the upper spring perch and the upper mount and make sure that it hasn't cracked.
Replacing the upper nuts is not a bad idea, but certainly not required.

thanks irish. man i'm compiling everything suspension wise. i'm just missing the rear mounts that ben used to make. is it ridiculous that i'm changing control arms, inner/outer tierods, swaybar endlinks and bushings, strut bearings, mounts, etc. i just wanna get this done once and enjoy it for the rest of my car's life. while i'm here, if any north jersey/nyc people are reading this. would u like to help me with my suspension project? food+beer+gas money

Crazy97 - I don't remember stripping the top nut on my car, but then again I've worked so much on it and stripped so many nuts and bolts on it, I may have just forgotten
It might also have been on someone else's car I was helping with
