Squeeking noise from brakes

I bought Brembo Blanks and Axxis Pads (iforgot which one from the GD last year around November. This was due to the fact the my rear calipers were frozen. So I got everything installed and it worked great for a few months. Then March came around. I saw rust on the hub of the rotor. I ignored it. Then June, and July came around. This is when it was really hot out and dry. Well my brakes started squeeking like all hell again. At one point I could make them squeek on command. Weather it was 5mph or like 30mph I could hear the squeek.

So today I come to you guys to help me out.
I thought Brembos were a good brand. Was there something wrong with the install? I mean my brakes work just fine. I just find the noise very annoying.

I have pictures of the rotors. But I don't think it will help. (Keep in mind there is prolly around 5k tops on these puppies. I don't drive around much when I am at school.

To the touch I can feel some grooves in the rotors. I haven't taken off the wheel.

But here they are:

Don't hold this against me, but i've heard that the Axxis Pads are "loud," hence the squeaking you are hearing...........but wait for the "pro's" to chime in!

I think alot of people have had this issue(My family has a 01 Toyota Sienna that has this issue too). The brake guy that does our brakes on the van said it was the fact that they were ceramic pads. Ive got the stock brakes on my '97 and they are squeeky like a monkey. Anyway, I plan on getting a new brake system soon, if it fixes it, Ill let you know.

Same here, I bought the Axxis pads but not the brembo blanks. I got another set. After about 5 to 10k they started squeaking. I've coated the back of the pad, the back of the shim, and inside the shim twice with anti-squeal aerosol. It stops for about 500 miles then returns.

This is kinda retarded. Seeing that when I was purchaseing these pads everyone told me it would stop the squeeking.... Maybe I'll look into the Hawk Pads.

Did you bed them in properly? And what kind of pads did you have with the new rotors? If they were the OEM pads, then that might have caused some issues with the rotors not wearing properly. Just a thought. Any word on the RTP rotors from that guy?

I've got the RTP rotors. Have had them for about 20k miles and have not had any issues. Just the squeaky Axxis pads.

Same thing here... rotors are fine, just the crappy squeek from the Axxis pads.

1. Axxis pads are loud/squeaky by nature because of their compound. They're also pretty hard on rotors, hence the grooves.
2. Unlikely the squeaking is from the rotors themselves. More likely you either a) didn't bed the pads properly or b) didn't lube the slide pins/pad retainers and didn't put enough of the anti-squeal compound on the backs/shims of the pads.
3. Rust on the rotor hubs is not unusual. All rotors do it, even Brembos and OEM's. I know from experience.
4. Go get the rotors turned and put on some Hawk HPS pads. Make sure you lubricate all appropriate caliper components and put anti-squeal stuff on the backs of the pads. Also be sure to use OEM shim sets, not just the shims that come with the pads. The pads come with an insulating shim, but the Nissan shims help to position them better and reduce squeal.

Please explain your blunt statement! When you say they are not BREMBO sounded like I sell you fake brembo rotors. Alot of my customer is happy with our branded rotors and brembo rotors. If you got a problem with the product I sell you, let me know and deal with me, get in contact with me. It might be a defect you never know and we do have 30 days warrenty on all defect product, or other stated as life time warrenty product against defect. I am not hard to find nor hard to get in contact with. And everyone here on maxima.org know that I am easy to deal with and fair. I also have the higest buyer/seller rating on .org (FACT, don't believe do a seach yourself). The feed back speak for itself of me provideing excellent customer service and product. Please don't just make blunt statment when there is no prove.

I just want to add: the rotors sunten1 bought is not from me, I don't sell un-zinc plated rotors.

I agree with irish44j's statment

If you do the proper break in the squeaking noise shouldn't be there.

Hey don't worry about it is cool, I just wanted to know why madboxer make such a blunt statment.

Friendly advise for future reference on brakes. Do what irish44j said about the proper break in procedure and you will not get squeeky noise any more.

I had ultimate brake pads on my m3 for 2 years yes 2 years and I daily drive the car. I never heard any squeeky noise from the rotors/pads. Especially with the compound axxis uses when the brake pads is not break in properly it squeeks.

Best Regards
jason

Did you do it right after installation or waited for a couple of days?
