Bad Greddy EBC solenoid?
Bad Greddy EBC solenoid?
Has anyone ever had heard or had a problem with the Greddy Profec Bspec2 controller valve failing? I've been battling this low boost issue for over a week.
Currently I have an 8.7psi spring, I see about 7.5psi with the pressure drop but with the boost controller I've been arpund 9-10psi consistently up until last week. Now all I see is around 7.5psi with or without the EBC on. I've checked for IC piping leaks, feedpipe leaks, changed spark plugs, checked the turbo for play and also took apart the wastegate, none had a problem. The only thing that was remotely being a problem was the diaphragm in the WG was slightly pinched but that was fixed. It spools normal and runs extremely well on 7.5psi. I also did a single run with the vacuum unplugged to the WG (running totally shut WG), it was risky but I knew that if I was able to see more than 7.5psi it would eliminate a lot of things. I was able to get 10psi pretty quickly and I let off immediately, didnt even finish out a gear. So because of this the only thing I can think of is the EBC boost valve being bad. What do you guys think?

Well, I'm certain that its the EBC/Silenoid, because I ran my PB at the track over the weekend with the 8psi. Faster than I ever did with the EBC and I can still squeeze a better time out of it on this boost level.
I'm buying a Turbo XS manual for $80. Sure beats paying $170+ for a replacement silenoid.
