(More) Bose Issues

Hey All,

I've Browsed/searched the forums and I feel like this is a common problem. My main issue is removing the dash, I've seen multiple threads on it but most link to a site where you have to pay to see pics of removal? I don't think so. All I need to know is how exactly do you get the area around the AC vents out? I tried a flathead screw driver and a butter knife and had to stop because I was convinced something was about to break.

I'm running a '97 max with the Bose audio system. The front passenger speaker fades in it out, usually fading out when I am accelerating or taking a hard turn, also over bumps sometimes. I've found that if I tap on it forcefully or push on it on the right side the speaker's clarity will sometimes improve. I figure if I pop the dash and take a look around I might get lucky and find something loose, and not bother having to take it in.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Pop the bottom of the piece with the clock out with a knife or flat head then pull it straight out towards you, the clips will give eventually then its pretty easy from tehere.
