HELP!!! My Car Idles At 0
Just got a 5 speed few days ago. Ran perfect. Changed the fuel filter, pcv valve yesterday. Then I cleaned the throttle body. I unbolted it but left the cables connected and worked around them. I did unplug the two sensors near it (one is TPS i assume). Put everything back together...simple task. Ive cleaned many throttle bodies but this was the first time i tried to take it apart for better cleaning, but i never completely removed it. I started it and the idle was at 600 or so then it would drop to 400 or so but jump back up. So i did research and decided i would clean the IACV. Went out a little earlier and first messed with the screws on both the throttle body and the IACV. couldnt figure anything out. Then i decided to take apart the IACV. Followed the stickie and did that. cleaned the parts that i could see were dirty. put it back together and it wasnt that hard to do. easy actually,to assemble. put it bak on the car, connected every hose, every sensor. turned the car on, and it just dies after a second. if i give it gas it'll stay on, but as soon as i let go of the gas it just dies. anyone help me, i would like to go out there and get it running right tonite...
ok heres my next question...should the screw on the throttle body be touching the part on the back? i looked at my other maxima and its not, but can it be or should it just be left alone and work with the other screw on the iacv? or a little of both? or just do what works? lol, its frustrating me a little bit thats all
If you say you put it back together and it died, apparently you did not put it back together the way it was before.
Do you have any CEL's, if so,
are they?
Check for vac hoses dangling, double, triple check it all.
Sounds the way mine does when I forget to connect a vac hose, or have an air leak in which case there is unmetered air coming in.

no cels wutsoever, putting it bak together was pretty str8 forward tho... dont see how i could have messed it up. will check all hoses again, but i confident everything is connected and all sensors are connected as ive checked, double checked, and triple checked already...maybe i'll quadruple chek
the screw on the throttle body can either be touching the backside or not, right now its not touching and on my other maxima it doesnt touch either, so i assume that messing with the screw on the IACV wasnt a good thing to do, is there a certain position in which i should try and get the screw to (all the way in, all the way out, in the middle??)
