Another snorkel thread :( need advice

Here is the problem explianed in the video, the green/grey connector on the snorkel is not coming off, its stuck in there depressed and will not come off!

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...51795993&hl=en
(sorry low quality but i used a digital camra not camcorder!)

here is a more detailed look at the connector that is stuck on!

again i have used plyers and have tried pulling it out with my hands but still no luck! This is the only "bad" connector that will not come off, as seen in the video the same style connector is super easy to d/c

lol you made a vid about a stuck connector, use a screwdriver and push the green part in more, then pull out.

Alright ill try that in a little, when i get the snorkel d/c i will get service engine light right?

I assume if you reset the ecu then all will be good and the service engine light will turn off???

Which brings me to this:

I remeber reading somewhere that you can d/c the battery for about 10 minutes and the ecu resets itself??? is that true or should i reset using this method

The IAT sensor it's plugged into is only held in place by a rubber gromet.
Wiggle and pull and the whole sensor and plug will come out as an assembly.

Ok let me get this straigt, keep it plugged in, wiggle pull etc... untill it pops out. Then will i have a CEL? if so which method do i use (look above)

-On another note i dont have a 99 snorkel, it was off a eariler year donor maxima, but it should still have that rubber gromet right?

Is unplugging the connector a definite no-no?

Disconnecting the battery will erase your ecu's memory, and will make it relearn your driving style, so it's better to just go with the other method and just erase the check engine light..

Well both methods will have to relearn my driving style regardless.....

Is unplugging the connector a definite no-no?

Thats my last question!

Wana bet? seriously this snorkel is frustrating, as dumb as it sounds its true. The mechanic at the $tealership could not even get it off, at this point im seriously considering just ripping the mother ****ing cord out of that thing!

Guys i need help doing this! Please give me some tips and pointers on how to take this gay snorkel and d/c from the connector thing so this ***** will come out of my engine bay.

What happens if i d/c the connector to the snorkel vs pulling out the rubber gromet.

Which either methods give me CEL?

Which ecu reset method is the best?

Pictures, movies any advice on removing the snorkel please post it! I have checked the stickes, looked at other sites and googled with no luck!

seriously you can either
a) push the connector further in using either a screwdriver or somethin in that nature
b)pull the whole sensor out of the snorkel without disconecting the connector.
i dont know if there will be a code with the sensor disconected but there wont be a code with the sensor connected because all that sensor does is take readings of the air. you can relocate the sensor somewhere else and ziptie it or think of something else.

Well will i get CEL if i just unplug it? If i do it will go away after ECU reset? right? Which way is the best to reset the ECU this way? or just d/c the battery?

Ok I'm new and I'm not following you. Why do you want a CEL and why are you pulling the snorkel to get one?

I just reset my ECU on Sunday using the screw in/out method and it was really easy. If you want to erase the codes I'd do that but maybe you're trying something else?
