Lighting suggestions

I got my Maxima about a week ago, and my first "mod" was the clear corners. I have a intake coming in this week I'm going to install. I also wanted to get some new lights, the ones in there are the stock ones and they are pretty weak. I was wondering what bulbs that would be good, ie. hyper whites. I don't want to spend the money right now on a full HID setup, I'm mostly looking for some bulbs. I also probably need some new lights for my clear corners because I didn't change the bulbs on those when I put the new lights in, I think they are clear now. I've heard they need to be amber otherwise the cops can pull me over. I saw some Nokya Artic White bulbs for the headlights, would those be any good?

Silverstars are good for HID-like halogens. I have 4000k's in right now and they look just like HID's (a shade less powerful, though). They run more expensive than others ($40 for a pair at an auto store), but they last a crazy long time too.

Well I dont know what stock silverstars look like halogens....but yeah. Do a 9007 conversion. You'll run higher wattage bulbs and have better output if you dont want hids.

I've only heard (and experienced) bad things with Silverstars. Some don't last long and nighttime visibility in the rain is poor.
I currently use Sylvania Xtravision. They are doing a great all around job. I (and many others) recommend those to you.
For the bumper lights and corner lights, I recommend amber/orange bulbs all around. It looks really nice and not ricey at all.

Do what you want with your car, but those are my recommendations.

Good call Dave. Xtravisions do work great. And the amber bulbs are a most. My sig is before I did the 9007 conversion but the ambers are there.

Stay away from hyperwhites if you want good output. Do a 9007 conversion, instructions are in the stickies.

great BRIGHT bulbs, with concrete tests and lots of background info. me and all my friends do bulb business here. also note, the silverstars sold on this site are completely different (company and bulb) from what you can get at an autoparts store.

Just buy some cheap xenons off of ebay. Everything just burns out anyway. Don't go expensive.

I gotta say thats about the worst I've heard. My lights last a good long time. Yes they are silverstars so not as long as other bulbs, but I've heard of people with the ebay **** going out after a few weeks. G.W.U.P.F IMO

Xtravision bulbs for the headlights. Will help you see better in bad weather.

Amber 1156 in the bumper turn signal lights.

Clear 194 in the bumper side markers.
