Replaced Spark Plugs, PCV and got vibration in Idle

I replaced the spark plugs with Bosch Platinum 2 , replaced PCV and coolant fluid, added Lucas fuel injector cleaner.

I feel some improvement in performance but now I get some slight hesitation/vibration when the car idles in P or N. It doesn't vibrate all the time , approximately 30 sec in every minute.

Also, I noticed that the idle lowered itself from 900 to 780-800 after the parts replacement.

When the car sits and I shift to D the car vibrates more than before , but I'm more concerned about slight hesitation/vibration in Idle which was smooth before.

Maybe try playing with the screw on the IACV or you can even clean it, it's very easy. Also clean your TB

You put the wrong spark plugs in your engine. Get rid of the d@mn Bosch plugs immediately and use either the OEM laser platinum plugs (PFR5G-11) or the NGK V-power copper plugs (BKR5E-11).

The debate rages on as to which is better: the original platinum plugs or the copper plugs at about 1/4 or 1/5 the cost. The platinum plugs are rated for 60K and the coppers for 30K. I have never changed my original platinum plugs and they have been in place for almost 12 years. They were taken out and cleaned up on a wheel about 18 months ago. They have 65,400 mostly highway miles on them and my car still runs like brand new. I don't plan on replacing them until the fall of 2007 before I go through emissions testing.

I would be on my 3rd set of copper plugs by now as they would have worn out and corroded after a few years.

For my money, I will stick with the OEM platinum plugs regardless of cost.

Bosch plugs are primarily used for European cars. Get rid of them immediately!

I remember threads long time ago about problems with Bosch plugs. Replace them with NGKs!

I cleaned Throttle Body one month ago , and the vibration dissapeared (when the car sits with shifter on D)

But now after changing the spark plugs and pcv I have more vibration.
I was thinking to clean the IACV too but now it's not the main cause of the problem.

I bought them in Strauss one week ago , I don't think I can return them after they were opened (I still have the boxes).

The guy from Strauss who sold me the plugs is a maxima owner too and he said he had those plugs before with no problems , he also used the bosch "platinum 4" and now he has ngk iridium.

May be I applied too much torque on the plugs ? or the pcv valve is bad (I got it from the dealership)

I can probably guarantee you problem lies in the spark splugs. Get rid of those Bosch Platinums. They are not made for our Max's engines. Why not buy NGK's? I seem to always fail to understand why people buy different type of plugs than what is recommended. I know the NGK's are expensive, but you get what you pay for when you buy parts for your car that is not recommended, especially when it comes to plugs. That's why problems occur when the right parts are not being used.

Thanks for the links ...

Where did you buy the NGKs ? The NGK at Strauss are the same ones that the dealer sells ?

Do you think they gonna accept the plugs back in Strauss ?

IMO I really doubt that they'll take them back unless they still look as if they had just come out of the box.
Consider this a lesson learned if they don't take them back.

Matrix...I had similiar problems with my 2KI30 after installing Bosch plugs. I replaced them with NGK( after 2 weeks) and all the issues were resolved. I suggest replacing them as other members have indicated, also, stick with Japanese made parts as opposed to European for the Maxima.

I purchased my plugs from CourtesyNissan for $57.00+S&h

Regarding the Lucas Fuel Injector cleaner I have read ( this site and others) and heard (from several Nissan Techs) that Chevron Techtron is the best for OUR Maxima's.I've used it in the past and it triggered my O2 sensor, however the CEL was resetted wihout any reoccuring problems.

Its definitely the plugs. I had a 95 se about 6 years ago and I used bosch plugs, I had nothing , but problems. I then changed them to the stock ngk platiums and bam everything was fine. Get the NGK's.

I called my buddy at strauss today and he said he is gonna accept them back.
But he doesn't have the NGK platinum there. May be I'm gonna find them in Autozone. Probably they are cheaper than at the dealership.

I guess the NGK platinums at autozone are the same as the dealership ones (same part number )?

I don't think autozone sells ngk's at least in my area. I got my ngk's at advance auto

The V-Power are copper plugs that require gapping.
Did you gap them ? or you went to mechanic to do it for you ?
How much did you pay for the plugs ?

Autozone doesn't stock NGK plugs. I got my coppers at strauss, they were cheap (about $1.79 each, i think), but yea I had to gap them. Gapping isn't hard though. But I'm looking to take them out and get some laser platinums probably this weekend. But to answer your question, since you're in BK, if you're looking for the OEM platinum plugs, try any of the Arch Auto locations, they're great as far as stocking parts for our cars, & they have decent prices too. I got my starter there for $135 when Queens nissan wanted to charge me something like $250. www.archautoparts.com

PFR5G-11 for the plugs, BG44K for the fuel injector cleaner. Nothing else.

Use the NGK part # I quoted above for either laser platinum or copper plugs. If the Wal Mart plugs are not that #, then DO NOT BUY THEM. This isn't rocket science!

listen i had both first bosch p2 then ngk, bosch really didnt do any thing wrong to my car............. changed to ngk thru recommendation and worked a little better, your problem may be on two things, some times bosch plug come busted, it onle takes one to make havoc on your car so, take them of an inspect them or even better just change them to ngk, it will be money well spent, two- check you pcv hose take it of inspect it for tears or maybe u didnt connect it well

I'm gonna go to ArchAuto on wednesday and get laser platinum plugs (PFR5G-11). I wanted to buy the V Power copper plugs but I don't know how to gap and don't wanna take any more risks.

Regarding the PCV hose, it's well connected and the new pcv sits tight in its place. The old PCV looks like it was taken out of a freshly made sh#t covered by dirty oil.
