2 guys should be able to lift it, but it'll be a bit heavy.

VQ30 is about 340lbs, that's the longblock and intake manifold but no accessories like alternator, etc. VQ35 is about 315lbs. Take 3 guys, with two guys you'd each be lifting about 170lbs, not fun.

its going to be tough with two guys, it was 3 of us and we carried a 3.5 from the bed of a pickup to the floor and it was not easy! lol. also depends how strong yall are. it was 3 of us skinnie lol. so if you got two big ****'s then u should be fine. just take a 3rd guy, make life easier.

Zack342, a freind of his, and I lifted a VQ into my moms van pretty easily. IMO the 3rd guy wasnt ABSOLUTLY needed but helped. If it has a tranny on it definetly bring 3 or 4 guys.

I bought an extra motor fully dressed and unloaded it in my garage from my truck buy myself using plywood and scraps of carpet on a pallet.Almost had a hernia! I scooted it around the garage without to much trouble so 2 guys shouldn't have any trouble picking one up to put in your truck.

2 guys is doable, I am 19 and not that big. A friend and I lifted my de-k up from the ground and put it in tha van..he was bigger than I and could deffinately lift a lot more than me but we both got it up evenly. I dont think a third person is necessary unless you are worried you might hurt yourself..because it was kinda tough, but not as bad as you think. I thought there was NOO way but we did it! GL keep your back strait like a dead lift, lift with your legs NOT your back!

To add to whats been said:
two can lift a 3.0 but it will be a little bit of a strain but do-able with coordinated team work.

Three makes it feel a lot easier.
just the 3.0 block with crank is still pretty heavy but definately one man work.

I lifted a 3.0 out of my moms Pathfinder. . . wasnt fun but did it. . . and drop it from about an inch off the ground to dent the oil pan (lower).

I did it by myself: had enough maturity and intelligence to borrow a breakdown hoist.
With just 2 guys, you could-
1. get a hernia;
2. end up with a life-long bad back;
3. have it slip from your hands and drop it (onto your foot!); or
4. succeed.

WOW What a steal! I was going to say go 3.5, but you can't beat a free engine.
