Alternator ground location.....and ****

Hey guys, I am having severe problems with my electrical systems in my 97 max. When the car is running , and even under load, and i'm listening to my stereo(760W amp W/ 1034W Inf. Kappa Sub) EVERY light in and on the car blinks pretty bad with the tune of the bass. I thought it could be the alternator, but wouldnt the alternator completely go out, and not work at all? anyway, can someone tell me where the alternator is grounded at o i can clean it (with hopes of "problem solved) Or if anyone has any ideas, PLEASE let me know. You guys never let me down so im not too worried!!!!!! TIA

ur just drawing too much power....get a deep cycle battery and a cap....although a good grounding kit wont hurt either

The alternator ground is on the bracket close to it. Let me tell you, it's a b!tch to loosen.

check the ground from ur amp.. it migh be corroded.. upgrade the the big 3... also check the rest of the grounds on the car.. if that dont help take it to autozone and have them check the alternator with the maching they have.. a capacitor might be needed.. a farad might not be enought..

You should try doing a big 3 upgrade. Look at the audio and electronics section. You should not need a cap with this much power. Alternators will sometime slowly die so probably not giving all current you should be. After the "big 3 upgrade" I went from 13.2 to 14.5 V at idle.

Alternator ground... like someone else said its not easy to get off because the bracket will easily bend.

I dunno, If he's listening to it at full blast and he's idling, I could see it drawing enough current to drop the voltage enough to cause the lights to dim. Have the alty tested, if it is fine, put in a cap like people said.
