Elemental Designs Eu-700 subs in the rear doors

Does anyone know if these can be installed in the rear doors of a 5.5Gen? They have a mounting depth of 3.5" and an outside diameter of 7.25".

Depth wise, you could fit a small child in the rear doors being that the windows roll down half way. Whether you actually want to have midbass coming from behind you like that is another story, and up to you.

Why not? I don't want rear fill and I'll have more trunk space.

I'd imagine they'd fit. See no reasons why it wouldn't. As Kev said I don't know how I feel about subs in the doors but if dampened properly you should be alright. Should I cut some 7.25 rings?

Wait. So optimal location for subs is the trunk for reasons other than space requirements?

I dunno yet. Still researching. Though at $45 a piece they're very tempting. Plus I read some good reviews where others installed them in rear doors.

They should fit without much issue, but be sure to deaden as much as possible. Beyond that, I'm sure they wouldn't be that bad. How about doing some subs IB in the rear deck?

I was thinking the samething. Originally I was going to purchase the EU-700's but they are coming out with a 10" slimline sub at the end of October that I'm waiting on. I plan to mount it IB on the rear deck.
