Aftermarket Alarm antenna question

I have a no-name aftermarket alarm installed in my 1998 GXE. I notice that I have horrible reception using this. I was wondering what the best way to improve this was, since there is an auxiliary antenna output on my alarm. It is an RCA J2, if that is any help. I have searched, but found next to no mention of the alarm anywhere online. It was put in by a previous owner of the car.
The main reason I am putting this up is that I had an idea. Could I wire the auxiliary antenna output to the frame of the car, and use the entire car as the antenna? I would think that this would offer the best reception of the signal, but I have no idea as to whether this would be feasible, safe, or even just plain stupid. If it isn't a good idea, should I just get a regular antenna? If so, where should I mount it? The alarm brain is right in the driver's kick panel. Would it be worth it to wire it into the antenna in the back of the car (it isn't an automatic antenna, and is always up)? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. If it would be any help, I might be able to put up scans of the booklet from the alarm tomorrow, if I can get access to a scanner.

Buy a DEI alarm. /thread. Youve really got no other options.

~$200 installed at your local dealer for a basic alarm/keyless.

My plan is to put in a viper 350HV, but until I get the money for that together, I'm hoping to upgrade the range by a little bit. This would be a temporary solution, so it doesn't have to be pretty or anything.

You can try turning off code hopping, if it has that feature, but you cant just ground a wire and get more range.
