Gas needle stuck again

I filled up my gas yesterday and the needle got stuck. It's done it before but it fixes itself after a while, so I never fill up the gas. This time I just want to fix it. Any input would be appreciated.

Where is it getting stuck? Not showing full or not going below a certain level?
Does it move at all?

Have you replaced your fuel filter or anything in the fuel pump sending unit?

I would suspect your sending unit is bad. There are troubleshooting instructions using a DVM to check current coming from the unit. You should be able to test this without having to pull the unit. You should only have to remove the back seat to access the connectors.

A misinstallation can cause this problem, which is why I asked about that. Otherwise you are looking at a short most likely.

I dunno if we're having the same thing but... when I do a full fill up, the needle goes way past the F line and it stays there for around 100km or so then comes down. I don't think it's stuck, its just more full than the fuel gauge can show...

I would almost laugh if that was the issue. And then I would have been

I guess I assumed "basic" troubleshooting had already been done.

I was thinking, it only does it when I fill the gas. If it were a short then it would do it all the time, right? I don't know very much, but I think the sensor in the gast ank might be bad.
