Falken 512 Vs. Avon 550

I ordered a 18x8 rim and I am going to run 235/40/18. I looking at two choices for tires; Falken 512 and Avon 550. Both are all season ultra high performance tires but which one is better. I read the sticky on the falkens and there were mixed reviews. Also I heard that the tire has a soft sidewall, which is a turn off. I also read the reviews from tirerack.com and the Avon 550 recieved great reviews all around. Bottom line I would like to hear from nissan/infiniti community on this one, Thanks.

not sure if the cooper zeon sport A/S comes in your size, Mavis by you has them, very reasonable price and very close to the Avon 550 specs. I'm looking for the same choices in my 245 45 18 size.

I think the toyo proxe 4's are a great tire. Thats what I got and the sidewall is a little on the soft side when compared to tires like the Michelin Pilot Sports but are stiffer than the Avon 550s. I dont know anything about the Falkens but I know for a fact that the Toyos are better than the Avons for a few reasons, the Avons flat spot when parked for a little while, they are known for someone questionable quality, the avons weigh about 5lbs per tire more than the toyos, and from reviews I've heard on the internet the toyos provide more grip in general.

I found this all out because I was highly considering the Avons, I even actually ordered them from tirerack and then the next day found out about the toyos and immediatly cancelled the order and ordered the toyos from discounttire.com
