motor mounts

well my friend works at nissan as a tech and his master tech and I went for a spin and right away he told me I needed motor mounts. So should I just go with OEM Nissan Mounts or is there a company that makes a "performance" mount?

Motor Mounts

Hi,

Could you tell me why you need motor mounts in your car? I might be having the same problem as you but I wanted to find out what the problem is with your car. I have a squeaking noise any time I put the car in reverse and drive. When I drive a slow speed you can here the squeaking noise. I had it looked at a Nissan dealership a while ago and that's what they told me. Also, they said it would be around $800 bucks to fix. Did you by chance have the ingintion coils replaced in your car? I did just wondering. A friend of my mine that I work with had the coils replaced and they replaced his motor mounts for him. He mentioned that the when the coils go bad they put preasure on the engine. Not sure if this is true or not but I thought I would throw that out there. As for the best motor mounts I'm sorry I don't know. I look forward to your reply.

Well the master tech held the brake and push the gas at the same time and I guess he could feel the engine jerking around too much. No I have not replaced the ign coils

I have a set of PR motor mounts. They're very stiff... if interested, we can work something out as I'd like to get back to a fresh set of OEM mounts.

Yes, but they're still installed. Drop me an email and we can discuss offline.

A few reasons... but my primary reason for installing the poly mounts was in an attempt to reduce wheel hop at the track. while it did seem to help a little, it also added vibration at low rpms through the steering wheel. Since I'm no longer driving like I used to and have to use the car much more than before (new job requires daily travel), I'm just backing off on mods such as this. I've also pulled the aftermarket suspension to return to stock. The bolt on performance mods are staying though.

Energy Suspension makes polyurethane motor mount inserts which are stiffer than the OEM liquid filled inserts:

The ES mm inserts seem to be incompatible with automatics. Is there a workaround, or are we just out of luck?

You can use em but you'll need to tie the actuator wiring somewhere so as not to get a CEL.
