what are pitted rims ? please describe

Some guy selling rims with pitted on them i have no clue what are pitted meaning on rims is dents or cracks doesnt look to me thank you,

Usually pitted refers to Chrome wheels and the finish being attacked by acid rain, salt etc...

Not a good thing either way.
