is it ok to run 225/50/17 tires on 17x7.5" rims? what is the maximum WIDTH of tire i can run on 17x7.5" rim? please help!

You have to check the specs of a specific tire to find out for sure. Here's how those tire charts (specs) look:

If you look it also says "rim width range."

Should be self-explanatory from there.

7 is just an average of 6 and 8. Trust me, it's perfectly fine to run it on a 7.5" rim...

You can run a 245/45 tire on your 7.5 inch rim and be in spec. As Irish44j pointed out once, even thought it's in spec, it might be to wide if you autocross.

how about 225/50 on 7.5" rim. few said its safe to run it but whats your opinion?
