brake fluid coming from front of resevior(master cylinder)

i have a bad brake fluid leak coming from my car.it's coming from the round black cylinder looking thing that's just behind where you put the fluid into.is this the master cylinder ?? or is it just a resevoir for the fluid?? it seems to be coming out right at the front where the hose from the top up container attaches to it. can you fix the problem with a gasket?? any help would be great thanks.

I believe you are referring to the brake booster (power brakes). Have you checked to see if the hose is secure?
