Full DEK swap or 00vi?

What would be better a full swap or just buying a 00vi? What would be the price difference as well? anyone got any answers?

Read the forum for one. There is another thread about this. I think its a matter of work. The full de-k swap can cost about the same as the swap if you find the right stuff. Doing the swap is not an easy swap but the full de-k swap is much more work. Full swap will give you a little more power but I think it's a little unreliable. You're not sure how well the engine you're buying will run. At least with the 00vi swap then you know how your engine runs and all. It's really you're call on how much work you want to do.

why whould you swap it out the only difference i know of is the intake. thats what im doing. buy a dek and swap intakes. dont buy an 00VI setup here people are charging 420 bucks for it. i found a FULL de-k with 137k on it with a 6 month warranty for 300 bucks. im sure you can get a parts de-k for 100 bucks.

Well I havnt seen anyone buying a 00vi swap kit anywhere. All the guys I've seen buy parts seperately. Again, matter of work and finding the right parts for the right price.

basically if you are doing the work, and dont mind taking the motor back out after you put all the work into getting it in there because it is bad..thats on you. I have dont it too many times. Personally I would do the full de-k but do the 00vi swap on you motor and keep the rest of the motor for when you need it. that is if your motor now is good. that said dont go buy a $300 de-k if you are planning on using the whole motor. you could prolly pull off a good low mileage for $800. Some have gotten it for less but around $750ish is capable. but you dont ever know what you buy from a junk yard..its your call.
