JL subs not performing the way they should, HELP!

Went to best buy and after they charged me $220 for installing a JL Prowedge 2 10" subs with a JL e2150 amp that I already had the sound is very poor.
Sounds as loud as the OEM subwoofer. I can;t even tell I have the setup in the trunk.
I had this setup installed in a 2003 Eclipse and the setup sounded 10 times better. What do you think the problem could be?
I'm illiterate on car electronics stuff, that's why I didn't even try doing it myself.
I also have a PAC converter that I bought on ebay for like 50 bucks that I thought he was going to need but the "technician" said he was not going to need it.

Alright, what did the tech use to get signal? Did you check your amp settings? Try turning the gain up on the amp, but not too much

Is this the same exact setup you already had?
If so diy next time and check the wires. Also, put in consideration that there are two different body styles. You usually get a better SPL response in a 2 door hatch vs a 4 door w/ trunk.

Just came back from best buy, the tech guy took a look at what the Saturday's tech did and found the problem. Apparently he connected the amp to the input of the converter instead of the output. Problem fixed!
Now the damn thing is too loud even at -5 Bass in the Bose HU. I guess I need to tune it down a little. I'll play with the amp settings tomorrow.
