Is it possible to convert 5.5Gen Headlights to 5th Gen?

My neighbor has a 5.5 Gen and he had his headlights stolen 3 times and he would like to know if it is possible to wire the standard 5th Gen headlight on his car.

anyone ever heard of someone doing this? If not, do you think it could be done?

Thanks in advance

That is just disgusting! Sorry, I just had to say that. And I would say yes, if you can wire it one way, then it would only make sense that you can wire it back the other way. Getting instructions on wiring headlights, any form of HID conversions, even this case (because it would be just reversing the steps) can definately be a sensative subject around here. Good luck.

Like he said, it's possible and has been done. You need to make a harness for the H4 bulb the 00/01 uses and I think the 00/01 headlights will have a slight gap around them when put on an 02/03 Maxima....

Yes. All dealerships in NYC do this for 5.5 gens. My two neighbors with 2003s had standard 5th gen halogens installed by Star Nissan.

are the ebay projectors considered 5.5 gen? main question is, if i install them will i have that slight gap around them or not? those are pretty cheap, maybe consider that? relatively same price as the others maybe only 30-40 more?

I dont get it... why would this be disgusting? I mean, if the job is done by a pig, yes.. i would agree... but if the job is done properly there would nothing to be disgusted about... I am confused here....

Great info. Thi guy told me he asked the stealer about it and was told that this was impossible to do... freakin dealer was propbably enjoying the insurance money to replace the headlights...

I'll tell him that it is common to do that in NYC dealers....

Thanks for the info!

I've got an extra set of '00 headlights if they are needed. Let me know, I'll give a fair price.

How much are we talking about? This thing is not for me... and I cant come back to this guy and tell him: "yes.. you can do the job in NYC but I have no idea how much it costs and by the way, this guy online is also selling a set of headlights but I also dont have the price"

Thanks!

It cannot be that expensive. You'll prob just buy a harness and go from there or just called Star Nissan since someone mentioned it.

When I was looking for a car. I saw many 02-03's with 01 Headlights. I guess living in the NorthEast just does not go with HID headlights.

FYI, i found a set of brand new aftermarket AE headlights for cheap from a girl in brooklyn through craigslist. So you can find good cheap headlights and actually doing the install I would guess that really anyone can do. The only hard part is the wire splicing.
