Bored with stock hood

What options do we have with hoods. I just hate how plain the hood looks and want something more with yet still being tastfully clean. Not too much but functional. Either just to get some of the hotter air out, lighter weight, or functional with the supercharger.

So far ive seen:

Custom Enterprise

Sarona
style 1

or

style 2

but i think i would want the 3 holes to be coverd up i just dont like that look.

If anyone has ideas or can photoshop someones ideas put them on here.

I think all those hoods don't really "GO" with our cars. How 'bout a Carbon Fiber Hood?

carbon fiber is nice and i dont mean to bash it or anything. Its a great weight saver and does look nice. But its just a stock hood to me. I need something more going on. Even if its just alittle bit i need something then just flat. I really like the i30 hood it rises up just alittle bit, just to give it some character.

Is there anyway to form a I30 hood to the max... that would be something new.

the i30 hood can get on there. Just have to swap the fenders bumper and radiator support but then the fenders look different from the rear.

I guess sarona 1 but non of them fit the car and will really throw off the great flow of your car....

if you mean like aero dynamics how fast would i acctually have to go to for it to really slow me down. I dont go any faster then i will in the 1/4 mile and thats only about 110 at most right now and that speed is only at the track. I believe any negative with air flow would be so little with one of these hoods that the lighter weight would surpass that and give me a gain if not stay even. But if its a hood that i like the appearance then ill be happer driving my car and thats what really matters to me.

No I mean the visual flow of the car. You have such a nice car and it flows really well witht the kit and everything. I think the hood would throw things off. Just my $.02

I'd pick the OEM looking CF hood.

I dont want carbon fiber its still stock looking. I dont really want fenders with holes at all. I dont mind the way that the stock fenders look. Maybe like a fender flare just so my wheels would look tucked more would be nice.

convert to Cefiro eveything that will keep your @ss busy.. Or I30 everything, same deal. I think a Cefiro/I30 front end with our Maxima rears would look good, while not conventional.

EDIT: Due to our smoother flowing lines that may not be such a great idea on second thought.

The fenders from the i30 look different from the fenders on the maxima..

haha, I don't think he has that kind of money to covert into a Cefiro, since all he wants to do is change the hood

.. egh panzies I tell ya. If you had an I30 with the Cefiro headlights, grill, extreme drop w/ rims and rear emblems along with the Diana kit, you'd have the car in my avatar. Okay, you're right it'd be ungodly expensive, but damnit would you get looks.

I REALLY like the Custom Enterprise hood. It's not too much, but still gives the car some type of character. That's what I'd go with... everything else is too much.

to be honest, there really doesn't seem to be many options out there. it's either stock/CF or some overstyled thing that belongs on some tacky showcar. out of the three, though, the CE one gets my vote.

No offense, but none of the hoods out of your selection seem to be either tastteful or clean. The stock hood looks fine, it's nice and smooth and ads to the flow of the car. It doesn't have much in terms of shape, but then again, it's not supposed to. It just looks... well, clean. And... tasteful.

his is a nice hood. I just want something more there by where the supercharger is. The 2nd version of the saron hood kinda reminds me of the 98 mustang cobra hood. The little holes on the side of the hood are kinda close to were the charger is and the huge hole where it dips in looks like it might be right over where the piping runs. I think i might buy that one in time comming. Still looking for more options.

I usally don't like hood scoops on a maxima but yours is really well done. It is looks very nice, it isn't over done. Do you have anymore pics?

Ever think of going to a junk yard and finding one of those ornate 1950's hood ornaments, and then bolting it onto your hood. I guarantee you'll have the only one in town like it, and you'll draw a lot of attention and comments. Who knows, you might even start some kind of a retro trend.

I personally say find a nice hood scoop and throw that on there, it will give better air flow/ ventilation, and add the extra umph u want.

The hood that tilts forward on Vince's Maxima in the Fast and The Furious is the obvious choice.

just go ahead and find a scoop you like off of another vehilcle and weld it in. and then for originailty, do a diamond tilt hood mod. very custom and functional if dont right.

i dont think you have ever seen a CF hood shimmer in the sunlight when on a dark car.. trust me its not just a stock look.. but this is just my two cents.. i have a cf hood.. and i love it.. look at it on my car and you may change your mind..

caesar - dont paint it! it would look so good on your car.. imo
