leather shift **** restoration

My shift **** looks worn and I was thinking of trying to restore it before splurging for a new one. Any idea what stuff would work best? How about that shoe restoration dye that one dabs on?

I just bought a new 6-speed shift **** from Dave B for $55. Took 2 minutes to "install" and looks...like new!

(nothing, including Lexol, seemed to work on restoring the old one)

That's bad news with good news - the dealer wanted $97 for one. I think I'll give Dave B a call
