3.5 swap in progress, need double check on timing chain install
3.5 swap in progress, need double check on timing chain install
well, I got all the timing components on the engine, and I wanna get it double checked by who have done the swap. I followed the instruction on the FSM and I'm pretty sure I did it right. but who knows, I could've made mistake, so here's the picture of my timing. Let me know if I did anything wrong.

And make sure to read the thread about "cam spacer problems" (if you're using the aluminum adaptors from StephenMax, anyways). Nothing against him...it's just that people have had problems with them breaking.

listen to bigs and csb. Better to tackle this now while the engine is out of the car and much easier to work on, than your get the motor back in and you realize that it will be a problem. Do it right the first time.
I kinda didn't understand what it meant on the instruction when it says you have to drill/enlarge the hole on the inner timing cover, but now I get it. I guess I have to take off valve covers, outer timing cover, cam sprockets to enlarge the holes on it.
I also have question on tensioner. It seems like my tensioner isn't doing it's job, since my timing chain is kind of lose. It's lose to the point where I can push the tensioner with my hand. Should I swap in the 3.5 tensioner in, or is it supposed to be that lose?
I'm kinda not sure about using 3.5 tensioner if I have to use it, because I just read a thread about 3.5 tensioner on 3.0 timing chain and it was scrapped to the metal.

tensioner won't be putting out that much pressure to make the chain tight until you start the car and build up oil pressure. 3.5 tensioner on the 3.0 chain is fine...the one you read is one isolated incident. i believe everyone else uses the 3.5 tensioner.
