Yes that is a GXE model and it has a 4 speed tranny. Otherwise thats a pretty good price.

something looks a little fishy about the dealership, notice the two 5th gens in the backround with the missing headlights.

Considering I paid... 11000 for mines 5 months ago... Although it is fully loaded and with 30k less miles... STILL, the lowest I was finding 01's where beat up ones for 9500-10000, with 80-100k on the ODO....

Something seems fishy... The add says Alloys - YET it has stealies...
The add says 5spd AUTO - yet its a 4spd AUTO...
The add says GLE - its clearly a GXE (base model).

Looks clean though... I would check the CarFax, check the Title, go through it with a fine tooth comb... IF its clean and that's the price, JUMP on that ****.

Something smells...get it checked out if your friend does decide to go ahead. Price is very low...not sure how easy it is to rollback the odometer on the Max.
Lots of flood cars down in FL/SE as well. Cars appear fine on the outside but develop major electrical and other issues as time goes on due to being under water...

I personally would hunt down a 2k2 or 2k3. The power difference is amazing.

i think they actually are alloys. Nissan did offer those style wheels for the 00 & 01's. I think they were optional on the GXE's

Where are you getting that it has heated seats? If you enlarge the one picture that was taken from outside the driver door you can clearly see it does not have heated seat switches. GLE's came standard with leather and auto climate control. This car has neither. It's a GXE.

I don't trust it...

sketchy place + sketchy price + lies lies lies in the description = a scam.

Red flags ALL OVER this one...

Carfax, carfax, carfax, or whatever history report of choice, Make sure he gets one first, especially with that low ball price. Never be sold on price alone. I made the mistake with my "good deal" at $6300. Got a carfax later and found out 2 prior accidents and 3 owners. Also, used car dealers frequent insurance auctions. There is an insurance salvage lot near me where all the totaled vehicles come just to be auctioned off later, so I see it all the time. But this car is way below market value. VIN check should be priority #1

Kbb.com lists the retail value for that year/miles at +/- $11,000

That alone right there is enough to make me want to run the other way... 2 5th gens and 1 5.5 gen missing their headlights .... Hell one of them is even missing their fog lights!

Also carfax says there are 13 records on this car... that can't be good.

Also, looks like they deal with lots of Nissan products, so they have to know more then we are giving them credit. They should know it's a 4 speed AT, and that it's not a GLE.... Something is seriously wrong here.

That's two 5.5's. One is white the other is Sterling and it looks like the green one was about to get broke off too. The left headlight doesn't look even with the bumper. Maybe it's the pic.

Absolutely agree with you man... there is definitely something wrong with this. Not to mention the dealership looks like it's in a great location.

My take on the dealerhip.

It appears to be in a area of town with high theft probability. Hence the high fences around all of the properties. Therefore, if the dealer is aware of this and aware of the theft probability of 5.5 gen headlights, he/she might remove the headlights until potential buyers come in.

Or, the dealer buys wrecked/damaged car and repairs them, then sells them at lower than normal prices. These types of dealers exis all over the place and all fo them are not shady.

Or, they are also a repair facility and coincidentally have two 5.5 gens that had headlights stolen and are getting repaired, but I highly doubt that, because (atleast) from the pictures I see no hood, fender, or light housing damage on those w/missing headlights.

Just go to the dealership and ask as many questions as possible. Ask them to put the car on a lift to see if any frame damage, etc.

Also, didn't base model 5.5s come with black covers, NOT foglights. That 5.5 does not appear to be missing foglights, but njever had them.

Frame damage after colisions could only be seen with tram gages and self centering gages. Some bodyshops do an awful good job. They'll apply rustproofing and everything. SO it's tricky. However most good dealer bodyshops call everything and replace everything that could go wrong. You are pretty safe. Techs work on flat rate so the dealer replaces everything the tech calls.
Rolling back milage in digital cars is very possible.
That;s why you always should buy from a reputable dealer and check carfax. That way you minimaze your chances

two months of looking for a car down in Miami area last year, I found that 99% of the cars selling for "cheap" had been involved in accident w/salvage and rebuilt title.

It's probably been in an accident. For mileage, my 01 max has 66k on it. Pretty cheap price = car accidents; but might still be good if they fixed it up correctly. Test drive and bring the car to a professional auto shop to get it fully checked.

that dealer seems kind of fishy to me..
looks like he gets recked cars and pulls parts off of others to get the most decent ones to sell..
make sense?
y the hell would u even look at a dealship like than...looks more like a
pull-a-part junkyard.
but the car looks decent by the way.
do a carfax. best thing u should do.
Also have either a certified nissan mechanic look at it, or your own. Heck..u could even get a fellow org member 4rm your area
