airbag sensors - where are they?

so I tried to reset the airbag light - unfortunately nothing....

So it is my understanding I am looking for yellow termials to disconnect and reconnect. This is my last try before I bring it to the dealer

I can only find one right in the middle of the car in front of the radiator.

Does any know where there are any others?
I am thinking the rear bumper - somewhere?
I checked under the seats and I can not find anything?
They must be one under the drivers column but I havent taken anything apart yet.

Please clue me in.
THANKS

the actual airbag control unit is behind the radio. it gets the signal from the sensors and sends it to the airbags
there is also a yellow wire harness for the airbags behind the glovebox (i would start there). you dont want to mess with the actual sensors and blow your airbags

DO NOT DISTURB anything involved in the restraint system until you disconnect both battery cables and wait AT LEAST 3 minutes. This is right out of the FSM. A problem with the system could be anyone of several sensors, an airbag wiring or connector issue, an airbag, a belt pretensioner issue or the control module etc., etc. It is not something to fool with. This is one time I suggest a dealer. You could hurt yourself or the car. Let a dealer take the responsibility for the repair.

what year maxima do you have? the reset proceedure is different for 2K maximas produced for the first six months of 99 and all 5th gens thereafter. either way both proceedures are posted on this site somewhere.

for early 2k's it is ther same as for the 4th gens, for 5th gens after that you can find it up in the stickies somewhere

theres no sensor in the rear and the control module is under the center console. Sometimes theres nothing you can do but take it to the dealer when your airbag light is on and have them scan it.
