Yet Another Door Lock Problem
Yet Another Door Lock Problem
I was driving to work today and with no warning all of the locks in the car open on their own and now refuse to be lock by any means. They lock momentarily a then unlock. When I push the driver's side door **** down manually I feel resistance like the lock(s) is/are energized open, I also hear a click from under the dash where the timer is susposed to be. Key and master switch do the same thing. I've dug through the old posts and have found a plethora of lock issues but could not find this one. Can I disable so I can at least lock my doors or is there a permenant fix that is relatively quick? 93 SE
The main fix for the random door unlocking / locking can be found http://www.thewardrops.com/maxima/. If that doesn't do it the I would say 2nd problem would be the master switch on the driver's door. Lastly I think it could be a poor ground / wireing error.

Not to be an echo, but I once read tons of old threads about the same issue. My drivers side passenger door did the same thing-unfortunatley had some stuff stolen because I couldn't lock the car obviously, and our door locks are obvious to any one that passes by. Basically they said it was a short/broken solder on the driver's door master switch circuit board. Most often the symptoms happened when it was winter/wet weather. I didn't fix mine, and when the weather got better the car "fixed itself". But I would recommend fixing that master switch-why risk a break in?
