6 speed swap?

how do you do a 6 speed swap on the 4th gen? i would like to do this just wondering what parts are needed and how hard it is?

rod/linkage to cable...i think housings are diff....and yea not realllly worth it

There is another thread somewher on this. Many of the guys believed it was a much better idea to get a specv tranny and put the internals into the 4th gen housing. Look in the all motor forum.

OT: I think all the messed up trannies in the 4th Gen forum are due to ppl not being able to shift or something else driver related. Mine is immaculate and I take care of it and it shows no signs of quitting on me now.

I thought that housings were the same being that the people with the VQ35 swaps used VQ30 trannies........dont they

The bolt pattern is the same, but the A33B/A34 transmission mount and mounting patterns are significantly different and require a little welding if I remember correctly. In addition, the A33B/A34 transmissions are driven by dual cable linkage versus our traditional single rod linkage. Plenty of custom fabbing to be done to get the dual shift linkage mount down.
