JDM myths or fact?
JDM myths or fact?
Hey all like i have stated many times this is my first import. I keep hearing people raving about buying JDM parts for my car here are some reasons may be someone can help me seperate fact from fiction.
1) People in japan switch motors after 50K... ( if this is true than why would they do this since we run outs to about 4X that time?)
2) Since the car is from japan the engine does not ahve a "speed " cap to limit how fast the car can go..
3) if u buya JDM engine u have to use highe octane gas cause they use higher octane gas in china.
Are any of these true and can anyone tell me why peope INSIST on buying JDM thanksss

Im not sure about that but remember not all Japanese Cars were made in Japan they do have USA and Europe Plants.
2.
Supposedly not i really dont know.
3.
Last time i checked JDM mean Japanese Domestic Market. What the hell does that have to do with China? And yes asia uses a higher octane gas.
4.
People insist on buying JDM because it is Different. Just like why some places in Asia want to have our USDM parts reaon being because it different.

change motors after 50000 ? umm no. my brothers friends girlfriend is japanese and they dont do that.

Oh, and JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market. Keyword: Domestic. Was the USDM Maxima sold in Japan? No. It was sold in the US, and nowhere else.

wow... to ask those questions... u must be a newb... but ya, none of those questions u have has any relevance to anything... if we had to change engines every 50k miles, then we wouldn't be buying japanese cars...
not makin sense....shes japanese and i know its japanese domestic market. what i was refferring to was that it was MADE in japan not driven there. why would you care if it was driven there ? that dosent make it better just used... their sensors wont work here neway. And swap after the 3rd oil change ? are ya nuts ? Her father is in osaka and his toyota is pushin over 100k and WELL over 3 oil changes. please copy and paste the law in japan stating that they have to do this.
