Can someone critique this exhaust silencer?

I've been rejected at several state inspections stations cuz my car is 'too loud.' I have a 2.5" Borla exhaust, no cats and headers. It wasn't as loud as my 97 Maxima that had a y-pipe and Warpspeed exhaust. Ya think this silencer can reduce the noise to a "pasing" level? (They don't use a decibel meter, they just go by what they hear.)

Did you ever stop and think about what you just stated, They don't use a decibel meter. How can they be accurate if they just listen, not to mention I'm sure that's not lawful. They have to utilize some sort of tool for measure..

i don't know arizona law, and neither do you, so maybe do some research before you make claims like this. the law could very well state that your exhaust simply can't be loud enough to be "uncomfortable" or something like that.

anyway... that looks like it might work, have you considered just picking up a stock muffler to bolt up before inspection? if you're gonna be paying for something, might as well go for a sure thing, right?

Uhhh okay then.. Maybe you should go the law makers there. It would still have to be determined just what Db level is deemed uncomfortable. Then again, maybe you're right and they really are that ridiculous and ignorant.
