Was it really soaked, or was it just condensation? It isn't uncommon to have condensation in a CD player if its fairly cold out. It isn't a good thing but it happens sometimes. Are the windows fogged up on the inside a lot? He might just have a lot of vapor trapped in the car. The radio could be ruined, but I wouldn't replace it until this is all figured out.

no condensation... he said it was dripping....windows never fogged and it's been mild here as of late. I think it may have been from a hard rain but we have a hole some where guess I'l get of my caulk gun

i assume it was raining the night before the CD came out wet. well before you go putting caulk everywhere i would start with popping the stereo bezel on the dash and running a hose on the windshield for a few too see if you can find the leak. check the fire wall make sure there is no plug holes for wires that are not properly seated. also check along the edge were the dash meets the windshield see if it looks like any water spot may have a bad seal on the windshield. remember water can travel so never assume it will be a straight line from point A to point B
