Hard crank on startup??? and strong gas smell inside cabin overnight
I am having a problem with a strong gas smell inside my car after it sits like overnight. This problem just recently started. Also when I go to start the car it takes a few secs to crank up and then the rpms slowly catch. It not an instant start up like it should be. Anyone got any ideas?

It could be a number of items.
You did not state whether you had a CEL or not, so do you?
Fuel smell could be a leaky injector. Mine has this smell whenever I fill it up, since I have a leak in the fuel tube that leads from the tank to the fuel door area.
The slow cranking can be dirty ground points, dying battery, dying starter or a bad crank position sensor.
I smell the fuel in the cabin after it has sat overnight if I filled it up the day before and I haven't driven too many miles.
Clean battery terminal points, & clean chassis grounds and see if that helps.
If it doesnt, get the Alt, batt, and starter checked.

Well the gas smell has just started a couple days ago. It smells whether it it full of gas or not. It always smells inside the cabin now. It giving me a huge headache.
Thanks guys. I guess ill just start trying to track it down.
It just seems it doesnt have enough pressure on startup. Like the rpms will rise up to like 800 but real slow basically like it trying to stall at the same time it trying to start then it will catch and go up to normal rpms. This only happens on startup. It fine once the car starts.

could u be more specific as to where you were in the engine bay? My leak seems to comin from the top of the fuel tank itself or the corners of the fuel tank. I'm wishing it's a fuel line instead of the entire tank. Fuel pump checked out fine.
I believe there is some sort of seal that isolates the active section of the pump from the in-cabin atmosphere, and just as fuel pumps just seem to go bad over time, rubber parts in contact with fuel do that even faster. Replacing the pump would probably be a good idea, but check fuel pressure with manufacturer specifications before you shell out money. As for your hard starts, it definitely sounds like excessive resistance in your starter/control circuit. Check your battery, battery cables, and connectors. Clean terminal corrosion with baking soda and water solution being extremely careful to not allow any of the mixture to enter the battery's cells. You can also patch up a corroded connector that you have cleaned with petroleum jelly. Your hard starting condition can only be caused by a starter fault, so thats where your problem is. Good luck!
