Brand New Automatic Tranny Pops out of gear?? Help!

I just got a relatively new automatic tranny put in my 95 max about a month ago. It works perfectly fine 99% of the time but just yesterday i had to brake hard for a second to stop short at a stop sign i didn't see. when i hit the gas a second later, it just revved up like it was in neutral for about 2 or 3 seconds then BOOM! slammed into gear like it was a neutral drop....

i got nervous i had messed something up so i tried hard-braking again a minute later to see if that's what caused it and sure enough it did the same thing. The tranny is perfect except for that but it does worry me. i don't like that it does that... any advice?

I know some pontiacs do that when the ETC engages but i have never heard of a 4th gen max having that option.
