... and then take a ride in it and forget all about it, despite all the money you dumped into her and the countless things that are still failing? I want a new car and I can barely afford the one i want, but the maxi always brings me back.

i have thought about not spending any more on it in order to look at something else down the road, but i always go to my favorite stretch of road and really push it and i love it so much! i regret thinking about the day i'll have to get rid of her.

well it was called one of the most reliable cars by

http://consumerguideauto.howstuffwor...n-maxima-6.htm

but i am also starting to see that the age of the car really shows it volnurabilities

the ride is nice but the maintenance is becomimg more and more annoying

i think about it quite often. What brings me back is i paid off this car. I've thought about an RSX or WRX for a while about 13k-15k i can get a nice one. but in the end i guess i dont like car payments. The main thing that sets me back is the auto tranny i have. I'm looking for a b13/ b14 car to fit that need.

I know cars are not forever and stuff. Just a matter of time or being at the wrong place and wrong time.

I think about it all the time because i have another loaded max as a "beater". Its such a nice car that when i can't drive my other one (winter), i think about how it'd be nice to have money in my pocket and just keep driving the 95 w/240k miles on it till she breaks. But i took the modded 5spd out the other night and it only brought smiles to my face... ....other than the reminder that my tranny needs to be rebuilt .

Pretty much when something breaks down..i had a potential buyer for my max when i thought of selling...cash at hand..and i couldn't do it. My car is parked now cuz of bad tires and low cash flow..and i miss driving it All in all..can't do it..now my wife's 03 altima..that's a different story. I'll chuck that pos in a hearbeat (especially now with that precat bull).

Lately i've been wanting to sell mine and get something sporty RWD, but i look at my options which i can afford financially, and it's all a downgrade in performance/quality. I messed a little with my Ksports a few days ago and now i'm loving my car again.

When I had my first Max...my 1997...I had those moments quite often because it wasn't that great of a car (hand me down from my brother - he didn't maintain it that well). But now that I have my new 1999 SE with only 28k (yes, that is accurate mileage - old lady driven) I am planning to keep this car into my late 20's (I'm only 19) and most likely be the last person to drive this car unless something horrible happens (car accident, etc.) I love this car and won't trade it for anything.

I've thought about trading up many times even tho I've only had her 2 years. But I keep coming back to the fact she only has 55k miles and I might be buying someone else's problems. So instead I went and bought a certified 05' Trailblazer w/19k miles on it for winter/bad weather driving. Warranty until Oct. 08 or 39k so even tho it's a chevy at least I'm covered for awhile. Since they drive so different I don't get to jonesing for a change so much. (for now anyway, lol)

I still check autotrader regularly tho just in case a max comes up that I just can't pass up. I can't help it, being a lover of cars as many of us are, I don't think I could drive a car too long without wanting a change on a regular basis. I just hope someday to be able to afford at least 3 cars at all times to keep my fetish in check. But I just think the more I can afford the more I'll want so even that probably won't work. I'm sick and need help.

I have had my 95SE, 5-speed, since day 1 (October 1, 1994) and plan on being cremated and having my ashes buried in it, lol!

Given that the car only has 66,600 mostly highway miles on it, and runs like new, it is worth more to me than any potential buyer. Consequently, it is a keeper.

I never think of letting her go away, I do get frustrated when the bills go high like last year.

I spent close to $1800 for repair like all struts, O2 sensors, radiator, alignments, CV boot replacement and some unresolved PS issues.

But then it never gave me problems from the day I got it.. Just changed the stupid coil packs at 60K and that was it.

my 97 se with OVER 240,000 miles i think about it all the time - in fact everything is going bad on it so i have to always replace things all the time. its getting to be a hasel and with all the stuff going bad or wearing out its just to much money to keep putting performance parts into it.

its going as soon as i pay the small loan off - it would have been gone if it was paid off when i repaired the tranny a few months ago

Generally in the winter time like last night when I had to drive four hours in a blizzard...but even with a foot of light snow and drifts she moved right along...

I wish the max had AWD or Audi Quattro...Lately I've been toying with the idea of getting a 2001 A8L...I'm trying to convince my wife to want to drive that vs a mini-van.

Then I snap-back and someone starts talking about spring and summer and the 1/4 mile track and Mona brings nothing but smiles...

Even with some minor pending maintenance she's been extremely reliable...I'm worried the 00vi will screw up this track record but I'll be sure to know what I'm doing before I install...

The simple setup of the Max makes it so easy to own and with I don't think 300+ HP at the wheels ever gets dated or old...all you have to do is mash the throttle.

I'd still like my wife to at least try an A8 over a mini-van...I have no problems driving the Max for now...the snow shoes and chains seem to get me where I need to go.

Each vehicle requires a lot of research so you can work on it and know what's going on and I'm finding these days in my 30s that I don't have as much time as used too...If I get an Audi I'll have to ramp up on how to maintain and fix them as I always want to be able to work on and fix the cars that I own.

Like right now? Ergh. No job, parents hassling me for money(to pay off the car), and no time for a job(senior year, 4 different clubs, schoolwork, etc...).

I have been thinking about selling mine, and buying another loaded SE. Wouldnt owe anything, as my 97 only has 82K on it, so I could get a good price for it.

4Th gen FTW.

I think about it, but can't bring myself to do it. I've had the car since 2000 and just the normal repairs and maint. I just need a 5spd and booost. I could get a new car but my wife would want me to liquidate both the current cars and I can't part with my Z32 ....... so the Max will stay the daily driver

I've had it in the back of my mind over the last year or so, and the Mazdaspeed6 was the big idea. I finally took a couple of test drives last month and it was a really good thing to do.

Basically, 300hp on boost for $30k didn't give me any comfort or joy that I wasn't already getting from my Maxima and RX-7. Plus the Max and 7 wouldn't hit my wallet. I haven't been readng car mags or driving by dealerships since.
