I'm getting my battery changed tomorrow and i'm just wondering which brands are the best ones for our car, and where I can get them?

optima yellow top for sure, pricey.. maybe.. but reliable and durable yesssss everyone on the site will prob. agree especially if you have a little bit of power pullers bumpin in your trunk.. haven't drained my yellow top once... dont pay over 150 for it either..

Wish I could afford it. Maybe I will now that I have a job! Haha. Man, still, <150 is expensive. Ypipe is looking more favorable than replacing the battery that is about dead. Haha.

But yeah, optima is def the best.

 

If you are on a budget, and don't have a system, then most any battery will probably work well for 3 years. Try walmart/sears.

What about Batcap 800 series battery? I have a redtop and throughout the years of use in a car with alot of audio use, it now doesn't hold much of a charge..

 

My original Nissan battery is going on 8 years now.

My original Nissan battery lasted almost 8 years as well. I am currently using an AC Delco battery.

However, I understand that Costco is a good place to buy batteries, although locally they don't install them.

 

Picked up a Costco battery last month for $45..
Works perfect.

 

Red top....great starter battery.

 

The Interstate battery I had in my car lasted 7 years, so I replaced it with another one.

 

The expensive battery is unnecessary if your needs dont require it. If your Max has stock electronics and nothing added, then the bettery at your local parts store will do fine and last about 5-7 years for around $50-75. Spending $150 on a car battery is just retahhhdid.

 

Get it from COSTCO.

 

The best battery besides the Optima is the Interstate Battery. I would say it is on par or even a little better than the Optima. The next one after that is the Sears Diahard Gold. I ran all those batteries for years on an electric boat without any problems. I tried that with Kragen and Autozone batteries and I was left paddling back to shore. I have a collection of about 15 car batteries at home for car and boating purposes. The foremention 3 are definately the best.

 

I guess thats your opinion but Optima batteries are the only Gell Cell battery thats on the market at this time. Motorcycle battery's are gel cell. The only reason they are so much is because the tecnology is so good. In the future, all batteries will be Gell Cell and be a bit cheaper.

 

Optima red-top in nearly every modded car I know of, friend wise..

 

to be honest, i think if your gonna get a yellow top battery then you might as well go all out for 1 of them digital batteries... man as long as you dont get the cheapest battery then your fine dude, i dont have a redtop or yellow top battery and i've got tv's and thump in my trunk and my battery has been in since the last owner of the car, and he was the first owner... he even told me he never even lift his hood up unless jiffy or the gas station is giving him an oil change..................... check the power i use daily.......................
dvd player, playstation2, power inverter (uses alot of energy), 2-12" subwoofers, 1550 watts amp, and im in the process of getting 2 headrest dvd monitors so this red top, yellow or watever color top battery doesn't get me.... get yourself, not the cheap but a real affordable battery and you'll be fine

 

Got an Optima red top. No problems.

 

I find 12v works best.

 

Had the same Interstate battery for 9 years. Never come close to dead.

not true. dosent Napa have some new gel battery that is on par with the optima?

add: its called Exide Orbital , search in google. Looks like good stuff for a very decent price, less than $100!

 

i had the same optima yellow top for like 3 years. the initial cost is high but they are worth it, ive left lights on overnight and the car still cranks fine, ive done repeated cranks in -10C temps with the fuel pump relay out (replacing fuel filter) and it still cranked fine. I also have a system and ive had it cranked for atleast 2 hours with my 2 12's.

the only reason why i dont have it now is because the car it was in was hit in the front and the battery was killed.


but in all honesty, if you dont have a system and you dont normally leave your lights on a cheap 50$ battery will do you fine, aslong as you dont get severe winter storms that get to -30.

 

yea im with you on that one i had my max sitting in the shop for 5 months do to an engine coming from japan for an engine swap and battery was 100% good so i think die hard...

 

Yep, especially the ones with good high cranking amp ratings. I don't spend more for the warranty, but I do buy the high cranking amp models.

ended up going to walmart and getting an Everlast, dont have the kind of money to spend 100 bucks on batteries

Then you should have not asked "what is the best battery" in the title. Should have asked for what is a good battery on a budget.

 

speaking of batteries, my oem nissan battery finally quit after 10 years.....on a -26 degree morning
I therefore rode my bike to school and my eyeballs froze.

 

I hear ya, but its still good to know that if I do have the cash in the future I should get an Optima Red top
