It all started with the SE taillamps that could be added to a GXE/GLE. Then Nissan introduced the 2001 SE AE. Anyone with any model Max could get the tinted headlamps for their Max. The AE also has an engine cover, air dam and side sill extensions, different kick plates, and a special AE shifter. And all of these things could be ordered and put on any 5th Gen Max.

Now here we are with the 2002 Max right around the corner. It appears that it will have new "Almost Altezza Style" taillamps that should fit 2k-2k1 Max's. (Which look good to me ..by the way) Not to mention it will have xenon headlamps. But the cost for the xenon will be prohibitive...at least over 3k!! And there is even talk that the hood might be different for 2002 ...making a xenon headlight swap rediculously expensive.

I just thought that I would point out that every new model year of the 5th Gen Max has introduced new parts that are mostly interchangeable with any 5th Gen. Nissan is making $$ off of us...but I am not complaining.

The only thing you didn't mention is how much these OEM parts cost. And people complain about how much Stillen overcharges.

I don't have any pricing for any of the AE parts. If someone could post them for each swap-out part that would be great. I Think I saw where the SE tinted taillamps were about $95 per side...that is about all that I know. DavidB posted that he had some information that the 2002 taillamps should be about $110 per side.

Except maybe for the engine and the 6-speed transmission and the LSD on the 6-speeds and . . .
