I keep asking but I can't ever get a reply. First of all, Does the CATBACK EXHAUST's piping go all the way to the front of the car where the Y pipe connects? Or is it setup like this: Y pipe, middle cat converter, catback exhaust?
Plus I know that our mufflers use both outlets for faster speeds and one outlet for city cruising. Will the HKS exhaust work the same way as the stock muffler, or will I lose power?
Does this HKS exhaust come as a catback for $400 or just as a muffler? If it is, does the b pipe stay or is that gone?
Please help, I beg you. If you don't y'all punishment.

headers to y pipe to cat to b pipe to midpipe to muffler

hks is only a muffler and it was dyno'd as gaining 4hp...stock b pipe and midpipe stay

So isn't this a little expensive? Should I buy or should i wait for something else like a catback? Or should I be happy with what I have and cut out the resonator?

I ordered a greddy this monday. the greddy is a whole catback and i paid $566 for it at my local shop. the thing is, the catback is aluminum instead of stainless steel and its the 115mm single tip unlike the dual tip hks. (rear section + b-pipe = catback btw)

go to a local performance shop and get a custom b pipe and midpipe and just get a flowmaster muffler...if you get flowmaster, you can choose any of 100 or so tips that you want (you can get one that looks just like hks)...flowmaster is known for their straight through design and price...you should be able to get the full custom piping (tell them from the cat-back...including the little b pipe)...so you should get it for $300-400 including install and the muffler...make sure you get the piping MANDREL BENT...nothing less and you should get 2.25" or 2.5" piping w/ no boost

Flowmaster? Do those sound good on these cars? If your going to go that route, maybe try a dynomax SuperTurbo or Ultra Flo. I think the flowmaster will give a very hollow tin sound so be careful.

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but $566.00 for an aluminized catback is HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!! I don't care WHOSE name is on it.

I had a customized, mandrel-bent, aluminized catback with a 24" Maganflow muffler and stainless steel tip installed in my Maxima for $275.00. That's almost $300.00 less than your Greddy. And it will probably be $400.00 less by the time you have your Greddy installed.

I just don't get it!

Go to a reputable muffler shop that carries the brands you're interested in and audition each one of them. How do you do that? Simple. The muffler shop will remove your old muffler and clamp several mufflers onto the tail section one at a time so you can hear what they sound like. Regardless of what anyone tells you, that's probably the only way to be absolutely sure of what you're getting.

Having said that, I can heartily recommend Magnaflow mufflers. They're deep, they're throaty, and if you can live with an aluminized muffler, they're CHEAP! If not, they make stainless steel mufflers too.
