Is 2" Front and rear too much of a drop??
Is 2" Front and rear too much of a drop??
I live in puerto Rico i just wanted to know if im going to run into problms with speedbumps and holes a lot also i wanted to know if it would look to much, if someone has pictures of a 2" drop in a max it would be apreciated if you post them. Thanks
If the road conditions are like I think they are potholes won't be your only issue. I think a 2 inch drop might also requuire springs and stuts (at least stuts that will handel a 2 inch drop) that will give you a pretty rough ride .
Unless you run 3rd gen Koni reds in front and get Bens long travel rear mounts and/or coilovers, dropping your car 2" on springs is a bad idea. The only spring that drops that much and keeps the car drivable are Progress, although Eibachs are probably a better alternative. Do you care about ride or do you just want a huge drop?
I dropped mine close to 4" and rides great...
I am riding on D2 coil overs...
Speed bumps and potholes aren't an issue... you have to remember, if you are lowered, do NOT drive into pot holes or even if you are stock height, never purposely drive into pot holes..
also, speed humps, I have no problems with them.. mojority of them I can go straight on, if they are too high, then go at an angle..

a drop on coilovers is totally different than a drop on a spring/damper combo....anything more than 1.5" drop without a shortened strut will cause u to constantly hit bump stops...either 3rd gen Konis or shortened 4th gens are a must for a non coilover serious drop

The 2" drop would be fine in PR. You would be able to ride over the pot holes and speed bump with no problems. If you are riding on the factors, the car is going to look lower. If you have bigger wheels, the car wouldn't look to low. I have a 2.2 front and 2 rear with tokico illumina 5 way adjustable all around. The ride is nice even with 19" wheels.
Make life easy on yourself- get an Eibach Pro Kit or Tein H-Techs. Even H&R springs. Any lower and you will regret going that low.
I base this on the thinking that if you have to ASK how 2" (or more) of drop will affect you, then you don't know enough about your car to drive it like a car with a 2"+ drop.
Take the 1.7 and be happy. That 1/4" makes a big difference.
