Want to add bass to my 4th gen......
I was wondering what would be the best method for adding bass to my factory setup in my 97SE. I am looking for something that wouldn't take up much space and would definately allow me to access my spare tire easily. For now, I plan on keeping the Bose HU.
Thanks,
Matt

An 8 off a bridged two channel would probably be all you need. You need an adapter for the bose head unit for your pre-outs.
I would go with an AA 8. The work well in small sealed boxes that you can just tuck in the corner http://www.ascendantaudio.com/assassin8specs.html
If you wait a little longer, they are coming out with an updated version. Im happy with mine in a ported enclosure (1.3 cubes tuned to 35) With rap or anything with heavy bass its VERY loud for its size. For rock it blends in very well and doesnt over power my front stage...

Which would provide the best bass, an 8 in an enclosure or a bazooka tube? If I chose an 8 with an enclosure, is the AA brand the best to go with? If I chose to go with the Bazooka, should I get one that has a built in amp or add an external?

I haven't really set a budget. For now, just trying to see what is the best way to add a nice, deep, bass that will sound good with basically all music types.
Edit: How can I get around not using an adapter for pre outs?
a budget will surely help ALOT. I can introduce things that will sound exceptional and in the thousands of dollars price range, but I dont think either of us want to waste time.
Splicing in a set of RCAs were perfectly fine.
